OBX MAGIC - by Karli DiBenedetto age 9
In the Outer Banks during the night, it's nice to lay awake without fright
With the breeze in your hair, laying there without a care
Dreaming what you will do tomorrow, dreaming without sorrow
Horses to see, places to be
Going here, going there, going anywhere
Laying on the beach, grabbing shells within reach
It's time to go, didn't you know
My heart sank when I was forced to leave the Outer Banks.
We hope you enjoy your stay at our Cottage as much as our family does.

About Brenda DiBenedetto
Brenda, Jim, Brad, Karli, Austin & Cleo DiBenedetto, we live in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Brenda DiBenedetto purchased this house in 2003
Why Brenda DiBenedetto chose Carova
Carova Beach is a quiet secluded beach and we fell in love with the area. The first time we walked over the dunes at night and we could see every star in the sky, I knew that we would buy a home in that area. We love it so much that we are building another new home on the canals in 2010 (this cottage will be 1000' to the beach but still offer the quick water access to the canals). We love to explore, fish and crab in the canal system that leads out to the Albermarle Sound.
What makes this house unique
We love to be able to drive onto the beach with all of our chairs, coolers, dogs and toys, Hang out on the beach until late in the evening and spend time with friends and family one day and the next day spend it exploring and fishing in the canal/sound. It is a small community and we enjoy our friends that we have met.
Guestbook comments from the owner
I just wanted to say thanks for allowing us to stay in your vacation home last week. We really enjoyed our time there. I was in dire need of some R & R, and that is exactly what I got. It was a unique experience, and that made it particularly special. Even though the weather wasn't perfect, everyone had a good time.
My sister and I, intent on getting at least ONE more day out on the beach, braved a sort of "sand storm" there one particularly windy day. We got a good laugh out of comparing ourselves to being in the midst of a Siberian desert storm, while our sandals literally began to get covered up with sand. The horses were smart, and apparently took shelter somewhere on the other side of the island where they didn't have to fight head winds. We managed to laugh about the less then perfect weather, because everything else was so pleasant.
We weren't quite sure about the linens, so I had everyone strip their beds, and I think most of us put ours in the laundry room. I believe we left everything in good order. Unfortunately, we didn't get to eat any of the crabs, but we did check the crab cages. We decided to let go what we could, but in some cases, the crabs clinged inside the cage. They had food inside, so they should survive for a pretty good while, in case you want to mention it to the next renters. Thanks for offering them to us, though.
I got some great pictures of the horses and such, and my friend and I walked to False Cape State Park one day, which was really beautiful and pristine. Almost totally untouched. All in all, we had a really wonderful time. Thanks again for allowing us to rent your home. I hope we can come back sometime!
