Fairfax Road is a delightful family home with three double bedrooms that is available immediately for short to medium term lets. It is suited to a family group or friends who want to explore the spectacular sights around Richmond and Kingston-upon-Thames. Wisteria clad and set back from this quiet side street, it has a lovely peaceful feel. It benefits from private off street parking and a small garden. It is a stone's throw from Bushy Park – an oasis of near wilderness with herds of Red and Fallow deer in the middle of the busy metropolis!

Entrance via a central hallway, off which there is a cloak room with coat storage, toilet & wash basin. To the left is a lovely kitchen with dining table in the bay window. The fully fitted kitchen features modern appliances - gas hob, electric oven with grill, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine and a variety of small appliances including microwave and blender. There is an assortment of oven to table ware and sufficient plates and dishes for regular domestic living. You can find an iPod docking station with CD player/radio and a small TV.

The sitting room is a large room with comfortable sofas and chairs. The easy to light gas fire provides a welcoming and warming focal point on cooler nights. TV with digital freeview broadcast service, DVD player and VHS player also. Double patio doors bring the pretty rose-fringed cottage garden inside. A selection of garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue is available for your use. There is a small shed that houses a rotary washing line and a gate leads out to the private gravelled parking area.

Upstairs, two double bedrooms and a family bathroom are found on the first floor. (A small study is kept private for family effects.) The master bedroom is a lovely room overlooking the garden and rear of the property. Double windows bring light into the room. It is beautifully furnished with king sized sleigh bed, chests of drawers and fitted wardrobe. The family bathroom has a separate power shower and bath. The second bedroom at the front of the house is simply furnished with a fitted wardrobe, arm chair and additional cupboard. It has a comfortable double bed.

On the second floor is a large bedroom with en-suite shower room. Again, simply furnished, this spacious room provides a perfect and quiet retreat. It is large enough to accommodate travel cot or camp bed if required.

Please note Fairfax Road is a NO SMOKING property.

I have lived in Teddington for many years having moved from rural south Wales. I have brought my children up in Teddington and they have been educated locally. In fact, I have worked at their school for a number of years. Now they have flown the nest and I have returned to my native Wales, I want to share this lovely home with visitors to the area.

Tricia Hill purchased this house in 2004

Fairfax Road, while perhaps not the prettiest house around, has a lovely homely feel about it. Once you step through the door, you forget you're mid terrace and the busy streets of London are a short distance away. This is a warm and friendly home that I have thoroughly enjoyed bringing my children up in.

Teddington ticks all the boxes for me - quick and easy access to central London for work, good schools for my children's education, a fantastic social network, some of the finest places of interest on the doorstep and wide open spaces that reminded me (a little) of home!

In the spring, the front of the house is adorned with lovely white wisteria. The pretty garden is filled with the scent of classic English roses and lilac. Both bring an instant cottage feel to our home, which is hard to find in the busy metropolis.

Inside, the house is laid out over three floors, which each room spacious and filled with light. As soon as I walked over the threshold with my daughter, I knew instantly that this was where I wanted us to live.

Comfortable, homely cottage

A comfortable, homely, deceptively spacious cottage in a convenient, surprisingly quiet location with very helpful and friendly owners.
Private residents off street parking at the back a real bonus.
It is easy to get into Kingston for the excellent shopping, walks along the river, Bushey Park and Hampton Court Palace, as there are buses just around the corner. A longer walk will get you to the train station for direct trains into London. You could manage very well without a car with a bit of planning.
There are one or two shops close by for essentials but it is a fair walk to the very nice Teddington High Street which has plenty of shops, restaurants and bars.
I stayed here with my 3 children and it worked very well and would definitely stay again.

First of all I would like to emphasize that the owners have been extremely friendly and helpful since our first contact via HomeAway. All our questions before, during and even after our stay have been answered fast and precisely. It was a real pleasuremeeting Tricia and Reggie.. .
The description of the property is absolutely accurate. As a family of six we were very happy with three relatively large bedrooms. two bathrooms and a separate WC. As we were travelling by car the parking lot behind the house is an additional bonus.
The house is very neat and well equipped and maintained - it can be easily seen that it is a regular home and not just a holiday residence.
We stayed for four nights, but would certainly recommend this property for long term stays as well.
The next train station (Teddington) is within ten minutes walking distance or two minutes by bus and it takes about 35 minutes to go to Waterloo Station by Southwest Trains.
There are some local attractions which are easily reached on foot, e.g. Hampton Court Palace and Bushy Park - may be even some more, but we did not have enough time to explore this.
We have been very happy that we have chosen this property for our holiday trip to London (where we spent most of our time) and would certainly like to stay there again next time.
Owner's Response: Hi Bernhard, it was lovely to meet you and your family - and we are truly delighted that you had such an enjoyable stay. Thank you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review of our property and it's location. As you know it was our first season and we really want people to know that it has easy access to London for sightseeing, but also many local attractions as well.
Keep in touch & we look forward to seeing you again,
Our very best wishes,
Tricia & Reggie

Enjoyable

We selected this house at the last minute but were pleased that everything worked in our favour.
We were welcomed by one of the owners, given a thorough briefing and then left to ourselves which is as we like it.
The property is a semi over three levels but the rooms are a generous size and well furnished. All the basic cooking utensils etc were provided and well as a supply of milk and bread.
We found the property to be clean and tidy.
Location is fine if you have a car (we did not ) but slightly more challenging if you don't.
There is a small shopping centre about five minutes walk away but to get to say Teddington you would need a good 45 minutes.
it should also be noted that the bedrooms are reached via narrow stairs which if fine for most but needs consideration if an elderly person is involved.
We would be happy to use this property again if ever the need arose.
Owner's Response: Hi Michael, thank you for your comments, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. I just wanted to mention, for the benefit of future guests staying, that there is a bus stop 2 minutes from the house which can get you to Teddington in 5 minutes - or Kingston in 10. There is a choice of train stations: Hampton Wick, a 10 minute walk or Teddington a 15 minute walk. Teddington High Street is 2 minutes from this station.
Regards & best wishes,
Reggie & Tricia

We totally enjoyed our stay. The property fulfilled our requirements for quiet comfort and convenience. The host was quick to address any problems we had, as minor as they were. For that we are very grateful. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others...

Fairfax Road is the ideal base for anyone wishing to visit and explore London. Teddington itself is a lovely leafy suburb; the river Thames runs through it – it is well worth a ten minute stroll to the Angler’s Arms at Teddington Lock! There are some fine parks with historical significance - General Dwight D. Eisenhower planned the D-Day landings at Bushy Park and used it as the HQ for the USAAF forces throughout the Second World War. Henry VIII's Hampton Court Palace – a true masterpiece of architecture and design – can be reached on foot through Bushey Park or is a short bus ride away, as are the spectacular Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew

Teddington high street offers all the shops and amenities you will need during your stay. There are food supermarkets (all of which will delivery groceries to the house) and pharmacies, an array of independent gift traders and a wide variety of restaurants and takeaways. Chef Gordon Ramsey featured the award winning Simply Thai restaurant on FWord show and it continues to be an outstanding eatery. It is just a minutes’ walk away.

For sporting enthusiasts, this house could not be better situated. It is convenient for highlight sporting fixtures at the All England Tennis Club at Wimbledon and Twickenham and horse racing at Epsom, Ascot, Kempton & Sandown and Polo at Ham House.

Central London is a 20 minute train ride away, with regular services departing from Teddington (a short walk along Fairfax Road and through quiet streets) and Kingston into the central rail hub of Waterloo station. The bus stop (Route 285) is just a hundred metres away at the end of Fairfax Road. It goes to Kingston-upon-Thames in one direction or straight into London Heathrow Airport in the other.
