Owls Head Vacation Rental cottage

My mother and I stayed here for a week, and it is exactly as described. The views are incredible, and the location is very peaceful. You are at the end of a dead-end street, so there is little to no traffic. You can sit on the deck and watch the birds and boats go by. You are close to a main road (you'd never know it, though) and can easily drive to any of the nearby towns to sightsee and explore.

I would personally find it a little tight for 3 people (better if 2 are willing to share the double bed in the bedroom) but for 2 it is perfect. The hot water tank is pretty small, so be prepared to take a "sailor's shower". The wireless connectivity is spotty, so don't go here thinking you'll get a lot of work done. The idea is to relax!

You are about 2.5 miles from downtown Rockland, which is a lovely area to explore and shop. There is a farmer's market in the summer that is a great place to grab local produce and baked goods. The Owl's Head General Store is an excellent place to grab lunch. There are numerous places to go get lobster and other seafood - do it! It's all fresh and fabulous, especially the lobster.

If you like lighthouses, you have 2 you can see from the property - the Owl's Head Light, and the Rockland Breakwater Light. Both are a short drive away, and the Rockland light in particular is a great walk. I also recommend a visit to the Marshall's Point Light, which is on the peninsula near Port Clyde. Lovely views from here.

The property was clean and well maintained. The owner was lovely and kind. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend! We hope to come back.
