Convenience to beach:
Going to the beach has never been easier! When you are this close you can go home for a snack or a quick nap without missing any of the fun. The beach is perfect for kids and has a life guard on duty during summer months.
The morning sun is a delightful time to experience the quiet of the cape and the serenity of the ocean. Sit outside the unit in the morning or take you coffee with you to the beach. A lot of locals enjoy walking or running in the area.
During particular times in the summer, there can be some seaweed in parts of the beach. Be sure to bring the kids water shoes. Boogie boards are fun but know there aren't any big waves since this is the bay side of the cape....this is great for small kids. If you prefer, you can go to the other side of Dennis for larger waves. If you really want big waves, take a day trip to Wellfleet beaches.
Vacation activities for everyone!:
Dennisport has a number of golf courses close by. If you prefer shopping, antique shopping abounds on beautiful 6A in Dennis. Kids love the local activities including mini golf, batting cages, trampolines, and old fashioned candy stores. There is a movie theater and flea market on the weekends in Dennisport. Drive a little further on the cape for pottery studios, smaller boutiques, and upscale gift shops.
Our Favorite Spots to Eat..... :
The Best Ice Cream on the Cape: We bought this place because of Sundae School....less than a mile away. You'll want to go daily!
The Red Cottage is our favorite breakfast place...go early to beat the crowds and sit at the breakfast bar to watch the chefs create your breakfast. 'Crabby Beni' is a cape favorite (Eggs Benedict with crab meat).
Villa Roma stands alone for Italian food at a great price. Again, go early to beat the weekend crowd. Cute bar with friendly bartenders and they do take out too.
For an upscale dinner without the kids, The Port in Harwichport is my favorite.
