Beautifully updated 200 year old house on seven mountainside acres adjoining thousands of acres of wild State land. Privacy but not isolation, less than three miles from center of Woodstock. Gorgeous property with swimming pool, lawns, flower beds, handsome landscaping, blue stone patios, old stone walls, orchards, woods and wildlife. Stream with waterfalls flows next to the house, and several windows and French doors overlook the stream. House has great character, with many antiques and distinctive art work; twice featured in national magazines. Views from property of the Hudson Valley and the mountain behind us. Ideal for a family or couple with weekend guests. Well behaved dogs but no cats please.

Woodstock and Catskills Area: Many recreational activities, such as hiking, bicycling, skiing, cross-country skiing, kayaking, tubing, golf, tennis, horseback riding and fly fishing. There are some great restaurants, antique shops and seasonal local events. Just eight miles from Kingston, which was once the Capital of NY State and has two historic districts. One of these is on the Rondout just as it joins the Hudson, with marinas, boat trips and museums. Kingston also has modern malls with all the major stores and a multiplex cinema. Driving distance to Manhattan: 105 miles

Notes: There is a studio apartment (not usually included, but negotiable) with twin iron beds, sofa, full bathroom, compact kitchen, breakfast area, and separate entrance via French doors leading to a large patio with furniture. The main house has a library with a large stone fireplace. The phones have an answering machine. Our private well gives the house pure mountain water. The kitchen has a sofa and two chairs, quality cookware & utensils including a Cuisinart, and French doors front & back. There are bluestone patios around most of the house, one at the pool and another beside the stream. We have ample outdoor furniture, chaises, tables, chairs and several large shade umbrellas. Trailways bus service to Kingston and Woodstock. Amtrak rail station in Rhinecliff is 25 minutes away. Albany Airport is about an hour away to the North.
