EXPERIENCE ROCKLAND MAINE

If after traveling hundreds or thousands of miles, you want to relax and enjoy your vacation feeling and being as comfortable as you do in your own home – this is the vacation rental for you and your family.

We take pride in that everyone who visits enjoys that the home provides them nearly everything you’d have in your own home to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

The full modern kitchen is equipped for anyone wanting to provide home cooked meals, mixing cocktails, baking, or nuking popcorn during their stay. There is an abundance of pots, pans, dinnerware, flatware, glasses, cups and utensils for every purpose.

There’s a small sitting room off the Master bedroom at the front of the house which provides a serene and picturesque view of the harbor. It’s great for morning coffee, tea or just relaxing with a good book while the sunrise welcomes the day.

Our two decks are great for outdoor dining, tanning or simply relaxing. One deck is above the garage and provides a great view overlooking the property and an ocean view. The rear deck is off the dining room with a grass covered back yard and gas grille in proximity.

Just down our street is the famous Samoset Resort and only ¾ mi.away is the Rockland breakwater and lighthouse. The ferry landing, just over a mile, provides transportation to a group of nearby islands at reasonable rates.

Our home is conveniently located and close to attractions, restaurants, shopping, hospital, and across the street from the Rockland Harbor. Most important is that the center of the town is within walking distance (1.3mi) from our location.

The annual Rockland Lobster Festival http://www.mainelobsterfestival.com/about/ and the North Atlantic Blues Festival http://www.northatlanticbluesfestival.com/ are two of the region’s most popular events during the peak season.

At the center of town are boutique shops, galleries, cozy coffee shops and restaurants known to please diverse palates. All of this is complimented by the sereneness of main street and the friendliest merchants and townspeople who work and live in the community.

About dennis & carol

We live in Rhode Island and have been here all our lives. Rockland Maine has been a favorite place for us for quite some time.

dennis & carol purchased this house in 1998

Why dennis & carol chose Rockland

We both grew up in Rhode Island but my wife's aunt lived in Rockland. My wife visited her aunt, uncle and cousins in Rockland annualy-usually lobster festival week - and fell in love with this small seaside town. When we met in the 80's, I joined her on her visits to Rockland. We found this home on our way to visit the Samoset Resort and the Rockland breakwater and purchased it in 1998.

What makes this house unique

There is a great view of the harbor from our home. There is a small sitting room off the master bedroom with a large picture window where you can relax with a coffee, a good book or your mp3 player and truely relax. You can also go to the large deck above the garage and capture the ocean breeze and sunshine along with a view of the harbor.

Great Vacation Rental!

  • 5 of 5
We just had a great weeks stay in this vacation rental. The listing & photos accurately describe the property & location, the property was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed for a Maine vacation. The owners were communicative and responded in a timely manner. Rockland was a perfect home base for day trips. The Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse & Pemaquid Point Lighthouse were among our favorite sites. Longer day trips to Popham Beach & Acadia Natl Park are highly recommended. The lobster purchased from Knights by the Ferry Landing was fantastic; the rental was well equipped with whatever we needed to cook the lobster.
I would highly recommend this rental property!

Charming home

  • 5 of 5
My family and I had a delightful stay at this lovely, comfortable and bright house. (The pictures do not do it justice). Wood floors, brick fireplace, just-right paintings which grace the walls provide a perfect setting for a Penobscot Bay vacation. The views of the water are serene and soothing and the house is filled with light and the sweet ocean air. Now and then the soft sound of the lighthouse horn can be heard.

On a more practical note, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well and thoughtfully equipped, the off-street parking was nice and, unlike many rental homes, the tv had many many channels (way beyond basic cable) so we could watch favorite shows.

In sum, this vacation home is quite special! Having enjoyed nine summers in Mid-Coast Maine, we all agreed that this rental house was one of the best ever! Many thanks to Dennis and Carol~

Rockland House

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here for four days in February. What a cozy house it was! The kitchen was very well equipped, and had everything we needed to prepare meals. The master bedroom was very comfortable, my husband and I commented every morning on what a good nights sleep we had! The view was so pretty looking out over the water. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again!

Happy to return again and again.....

  • 5 of 5
I am anxious to add to the praise for this nice vacation home and can confirm that all the previous reviews definitely still apply—and more.

The first time my husband and I stayed in this lovely home we were amazed by how much the owners had anticipated what their guests might need.

Since our first visit, the owners have added a new washer and dryer in the basement, plus Wi-fi and a flat screen HDTV in the living room. There is also another smaller TV in the master bedroom, where, by the way, the Queen bed is quite comfortable.

The modern kitchen has everything you need, plus everything for cooking and serving your own lobster. There is also a well-stocked bathroom with a Good Shower. Check the list of amenities in this listing to see how many of the things you might need are provided, and read the previous reviews, which still apply. We agree with them all. You will also find plenty of storage space (closets, drawers, etc.) for clothing and other belongings.

The two decks are nice spots for morning coffee or afternoon “tea” in warmer weather. And the extra sitting room off the master bedroom provides a quiet view of the water/ boats and a comfortable place to relax with a cup of coffee and read or chat and plan the next day. The grounds and yard are spacious, quiet, and lovely.

This is indeed a pleasant and comfortable home from which to explore the many assets of the area. It is near to anything local and has easy access to explore the coast. Go all day and return for a relaxing evening. And, the house is very near the Rockland breakwater/lighthouse and the small park there.

The location is quiet yet easy to drive to town/shops/harbor, plus grocery/Staples/Walmart & other chain stores are very near. Also, there is a large new Goodwill store very near that is fun to explore for bargains of all kinds!

The owners are easy to work with and attend to every detail. Now that they are planning to rent year-round, we are tempted to return to experience Maine in winter, which we’ve always wanted to do!

Wonderful vacation spot in Maine!

  • 5 of 5
This was a very nice, very clean, and very well equipped home. The location was wonderful and the view was beautiful from the front and side yards. The home was very conveniently located, only a short walk to the Rockland Lighthouse, and a 2 minute drive to the center of town. The appliances were all new and very clean. The kitchen was supplied with everything you could possibly need if you were planning on cooking for a family each night. There was an ample supply of towels for the bathroom and the kitchen. The home had a very warm and cozy atmosphere. All of the times I contacted the owners, they responded immediatly with answers to my questions. The owners also had current magazines and brochures on where to go, what to do, and where to eat in the area, which we really appreciated. We found the Rockland area a very nice central location from which to take day trips, one of which was to Acadia National Park, which was not too far away. But we also all enjoyed the Rockland area. The Farnsworth Museum was fantastic. The downtown area had a very nice shopping area and the Rockland Harbour was beautiful too. There were so many things to see and do, that we all want to come back. All of us would highly recommend this house to our friends or family.
