3 Bedroomed semi-detached rural cottage in a charming village with pool

Restored in 2013, this semi-detached rural cottage is in a delightful country village, about 45 minutes north of Lisbon easily reached from the main A1 motorway. Located in a typical Ribatejo village with 2 restaurants/cafes, it is ideal for touring central Portugal. There is a small garden with pear and plum trees and a magnificent walnut tree under which you can spend a lazy summer afternoon by the 6m x 3m swimming pool. There is an open sun deck with a barbecue for relaxing or eating outdoors and a covered veranda . The house was completely refurbished in 2013 keeping the original façade but the garden side of the cottage has large glass windows, which prolongs the kitchen/dining area and the living room into the garden and pool area. It is a great location for touring, and Santarém (known as Portugal’s Gothic Capital) is 4km to the South with plenty of shops, cinemas etc and direct motorway link to the beaches 30 minutes away.

Enjoy a lazy and relaxed afternoon by the pool . If you prefer some action, there is nearby a small horse riding stable providing lessons and carriage rides or play in one of the several golf courses in the area ( Óbidos - 35 mins, Rio Maior - 30 mins. Campo Real and Bom Sucesso - 50m and 6 courses in Lisbon - 50 mins.) The beaches are about 30 minutes away however, the journey is very easy with a good motorway link.

Très bonnes prestations au niveau de la location. Avons passé d’agréables vacances très ensoleillées.

La maison est très bien équipée, très confortable et joliment décorée. Le jardin est bien embrayé autour de la piscine. Notre séjour à Azoia a été très reposant.

Superbe villa à Azoia, très proche de Santarém où l'on trouve toutes les commodités.
Location très calme permettant d'alterner farniente, à l'ombre des arbres ou au bord de la piscine...et visites, grâce à la facilité d'accès par voies autoroutières des principaux centres d'intérêts touristiques Lisbonne, Tomar, Fatima, Obidos, Nazaré, cascais, Sintra...)
Quel bonheur d'avoir pu jouir de services dignes d'une prestation hôtelière (lits soigneusement préparés, linge de toilette à disposition, et un renouvèlement hebdomadaire...), d'une suite parentale, d'une cuisine très bien équipée et d'un séjour plus que spacieux !
Avec notre grande famille, tous les ingrédients (maison, région, climat et hospitalité) étaient réunis pour faire de notre séjour un enchantement : on ne peut que recommander !

Azoia de Baixo is a perfect location for touring as it is very close to many places of interest like Santarém, Lisbon, Fátima, Óbidos, Tomar and Coimbra inland and Nazaré, Peniche, Aveiro etc. on the cost, all within 1 hour driving. Porto is also only 2 hours drive away, and the Algarve has direct motorway access and is about 3 hours away. Santarém also has very good train connections and the trip to Lisbon only takes 45m which enabling day visits.The cottage is in the Ribatejo region, on the Tagus river north of Lisbon. It is known for its farming, horses, bull-fighting and wine production but is also a region steeped in historical monuments. The countryside is ideal for walking and cycling. This is not an area of mass tourism. The people in this region are very friendly and you are assured of a warm welcome. The regional food is excellent. There are open markets every weekend somewhere close by, and the towns have large supermarkets and all the likely needs for your stay

The house is suitable for children although the pool is NOT fenced - parents should bear this in mind if considering bringing small children. For those with mobility problems, please note that access to the garden is easy and the rest of the property is on one level. The garden furniture comprises a table and 6 chairs, pool lounging beds and deck chairs. The garden has an automatic irrigation system and the property is walled, providing privacy. Please bring your own towels for use in the pool or on the beach. The pool is 6m x 3m and 1.50m deep. There is an attractive old well, which is duly protected. The property will be cleaned at the end of a week and towels and linen will then be changed. Please note that clothes and dishwater detergent and toiletries are not provided. The grass and pool will be looked after on a fixed day each week. Please abstain from smoking inside the property.
