The Island Explorer, a free transportation system servicing Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island, can pick you up at the end of the street and take you anywhere you want to go. The perfect venue for relaxation, Mizzentop's Cottage offers a sun porch and patio for those restful moments. For those who like to cook, Mizzentop's Cottage has a beautifully remodeled chef's kitchen. We also have plenty of lockable storage space for bikes, kayaks, canoes, and the like.

  • Rental weeks are Saturday to Saturday. Arrival time is 3:00 PM Departure time is 10:00 a.m.
  • Security deposit is $350 plus $50/pet (if applicable). One-half of the full amount is collected upon reservation and the balance is due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservation deposits are gladly refunded if the week is re-booked with another party.
  • Complimentary lobster dinner for 4 with bookings of 2 consecutive weeks or more (some restrictions may apply-inquire for details).

History of Mizzentop's Cottage: Once the laundry house for one of Bar Harbor's premiere estates, Mizzentop's Cottage was moved to its present location in the 1930's. This quaint cottage-style home now sits on a quiet, in-town street just steps away from shopping, dining, shore excursions, and all Bar Harbor has to offer, including Kebo Valley, an award winning golf course, and Acadia National Park.
