Disgusted with condo!

The condo had a repulsive smell as soon as we opened the door. Carpets were so soiled we wore our shoes all the time. Very limited supplies and the master king bed felt like a slab of concrete with pathetic pillows to match.
The housekeeping company that they employ does a pretty poor job that place looked like after the last people left it was nothing more than a lick and a promise done to that unit. I found the management company we rented from the lady anyway was very patronizing and discounted everything except perhaps she woud check into the pillows. Very bad experience here and sad as the grounds were well taken cared of. Spent as little time as possible here. Avoid if you like a clean condo!!
Owner's Response: This guest was the the fourth booking of consecutive ones that stayed back to back during the month of December. It was unfortunate that we did not learn of the situation until the guest's departure when we asked for feedback. Otherwise, the cleaning people would have gone back until the guest was satisfied. We tried to discover the source of the smell as the carpets had been recently cleaned. I believe the previous family prior to her arrival had been cooking Indian & curry, spicy meals. This caused the smell to impregnate in the unit. The cleaning people did the corresponding cleaning job after the guest left, however, the smell was not addressed. This has been a learning experience for us as we had not encountered this situation before, and in the future, the cleaning people will definitely take care of it with clorox, air-fresheners & anything as necessary. Vacation rentals are supplied with an initial limited supply of items, and this is stated on the website & contract. Guests, upon check-in, usually go the nearest grocery store to purchase what they need.
The bed is firm / orthopedic in the master bedroom. I can understand this would not be your preferred choice If you are used to a softer type of mattress. I will survey future & past guests regarding this matter as up to now I have not been told otherwise.
I have guests that rent from us year after year. They know that guest satisfaction is a must for us. If at any time, there is something not to our standards, it will be corrected as quickly as possible. If you need any references, do not hesitate to contact us. We will gladly provide them.
