Beaver Bay House Rental Photos and Description
3 bedrooms, 1 loft with 2 full size beds, 2 full baths, 1 half bath, sleeps 8
Our Lake Superior Retreat was built in 2003. It is a fully furnished log home in Beaver Bay Minnesota. Situated on a fairly secluded wooded 4.1 acre lot with 254 feet of lake shore. Every room has a view of Lake Superior. You will find that the warmth and coziness of the hand-hewn log interior, the openness of the vaulted wooded ceiling, the Lake Superior field stone wood burning fireplaces and the casual elegance of hand-tied oriental rugs on hardwood and ceramic tile floors through-out the whole house, will offer you a place to relax and enjoy the peace and serenity that our home has to offer during any season. It is our pleasure to share our rustic yet very elegant home with you. There is nothing else like it on Lake Superior. You will leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. The main floor has a large foyer with slate flooring.
The great room has a natural fieldstone wood burning fireplace and french sliding doors leading to a deck which runs the length of the house over looking the lake. A dining room and fully equipped kitchen, and a mudroom off of the kitchen. On the top floor we have the master bedroom with large glass doors leading to a deck giving you a panoramic view of the lake and master bath with a jacuzzi, as well as the loft which over looks the great room below, where our children like to sleep on aerobeds. The walk-out lower level has ceramic tile through-out, a field stone wood burning fireplace, two bedrooms, a full bath and a laundry room. There are sliding french doors leading to the brick patio under the deck. We have ceiling fans in every room, and in floor heating. We think you will enjoy staying in our home so much that you won't want to leave.

Dear Jeff and DawnThanks for the lovely home for our family reunion. We all had a wonderful time in your luxurious house. We felt very pampered. You house is warm and elegant. We will be back next year. Thanks so much.DR
Jeff and I bought the property in 1998 and built our log home sanctuary is 2002-2003. Jeff is a rheumatologist who gave up practice to start a medical device company in 1998. His business is doing very well but it requires a LOT of travel. Often he spends more time out of Minnesota than in Minnesota.
Our house was sitting empty because we couldn't get up there. The kids and I would go with Jeff on his travels because he was lonely for us and made his business travel more enjoyable.
An empty house has no soul, so I prefer to share it with other families to enjoy.
Dawn (me), currently works at Navab Brothers Oriental Rugs in St. Louis Park. I owned 2 oriental rug stores, one at International Market Square and one in Wayzata, but liquidated in 1996 when our twins were 2.
I like to manage the Beaver Bay house and clean it, getting it ready for each guest. On occasion, I am not able to get up there to take care of it, so my dear friends Greg and Sue help me out. They live in Silver Bay and know everybody in the area. They have been wonderful.
We have always loved the feel of the North Shore. Hiking, camping, exploring, fishing on Lake Superior, Boundary Water canoe trips, etc. Jeff and I have been coming up to the North Shore since we were small children and when the opportunity to buy our lot came up, we grabbed it. We wanted our children to have the same wonderful experiences that we had as children.
This particular lot caught our eye because it is secluded, no one around us. Beautiful Lake shore, and beautiful views of the Lake. Plus we have City of Beaver Bay water and sewer. A huge benefit.
The location is perfect. Ideally located in Beaver Bay which is 50 miles north of Duluth, 40 miles south of Lutsen, 60 miles south of Grand Marais, plus 3 state parks within 10 miles of us, Gooseberry, Split Rock Lighthouse and Tettagouche. You can hike to the Superior Hiking Trail from our house.
