DRAMATIC OCEANFRONT HOME WITH PRIVATE POOL/ SPA

This unit is on Singleton Beach, just north of Palmetto Dunes Resort. I need an oceanfront place large enough to accommodate kids, grandkids, and parents. This place fit the bill with six bedrooms, each with its own private bath. There are also two half baths, one on the main floor and one on the top floor. In addition to the two bedrooms on the top floor, there is a very nice gameroom with pool table that could be used as another bedroom. The couches there are comfortable and I believe one is a sleeper sofa.

I had ankle surgery 3 weeks prior to arriving and was pleased to find the main floor living area flat and not sunken. The pool had a hot tub, which got used much more than I expected. Cool decking surrounded the pool. Much nicer on the feet than wood decking.

Insofar as downsides - relatively minor. On Thursday we started noticing the floor with the master BR was not cooling properly. Turns out it was unfixable and it was time to replace the unit. Not much of a problem since we had cool weather most of the week. Just one of those things. I suspect next year we will have a new aC unit (yes we've already reserved a week next year).

Next, the pocket door to the toilet in the master bath was off the track. Someone came out to look at it but said they'd have to go into the wall to fix it. We decided to live with it - not much of a problem. But I hope it's fixed next time I show up.

Finally, some nitwit reversed all the knobs on the stove. I don't know when it happened but I think it happened a while back because all the pans seemed scorched way beyond normal usage. One of my sons-in-law popped off the knobs (they were stuck on there pretty good) and put them back as they should be.

Like I said, we've already sent a check and will be back next year.

Each morning of my stay, I enjoyed dolphins swimming by within 5 yards of the shoreline. The days were filled with seashell hunting (including sand dollars, star fish, shark's teeth), swimming in the ocean, lounging by the pool and walking along the beach. All of this in total peace and privacy.

Book with caution as a stay here could become addictive!
