About Caroline Wallrock

Charlie and I are antique dealers and we have four children, one of whom helped decorate and furnish this wing of the house. We've travelled widely and lived overseas but always return to this beautiful part of the world.

Why Caroline Wallrock chose New Forest

Tweed House and Cloisters have a saucy history. Tweed House was built by Captain Symonds for his new bride Lucinde Touzi in 1815. They had met in the Caribbean as the result of incredible adventures. Captain Symonds rescued Lucinde from the siege of San Domingo, brought her back to England and married her once she came of age.

Later owners, the Moens, were kidnapped on their honeymoon in Sardinia. Mrs Moen was released and the people of Boldre chipped in to raise the ransom to free Mr. Moen.

Wow Wow Wow

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Cloisters over the period before our wedding at the wonderful Gordleton Mill. We used the property to entertain friends in the run up to the wedding, organise everything and generally relax in the last week before the big day then for a few days afterwards. The owners were so welcoming, accommodating and friendly, the house itself is absolutely gorgeous and spacious and relaxing. Clean and well maintained and stocked. The place is great for entertaining and the gardens wonderful for relaxing in. We had both beautiful spring days where we got outside and ate breakfast and lunch on the lawns and sat in the sunshine and we had miserable wet days where we relaxed indoors where the house is so cosy. Don't wait any longer BOOK NOW! The pub down the road is a wonderful pub, its great location for Lymington and the new Forest and staying here with friends and parents made our wedding week even more amazing. Thank you Caroline and family.

Charming Cloisters

  • 5 of 5

What a magnificent house! Charismatic and well maintained. We (family of 9) only stayed for the weekend. We could loose ourselves in the vast space inside and out. You know when you are away and you think will they have this or that, well they have it all. Well done Caroline and Charlie

fun weekend at cloisters

  • 5 of 5

WOW!!!!! superb house with a lovely garden...much bigger than I was expecting and plenty of room for my whole family (and I have a big family)..it was something as a family especially my mum have wanted to do for a long time now and couldn`t have picked a better place..

Nothing seemed too much for the owner and was easy to get hold of and we will definitely be looking to renting her property out again...

Fantastic stay at Cloisters.

  • 4 of 5

Perfect setting and building to relax in. Spacious and with everything you want (including huge fridge/freezer and multiple ovens). The garden and tennis court were extensively used, all very well kept. And seriously close to a great pub - the Red Lion <500 metres down the road. Really nice touches by our hosts (but I'll let those be a surprise!).

The New Forest is one of England's gems. The rural landscape of forest and heathland is less than two hours from London but seems a world away. The New Forest ponies graze on the common heathland and are joined by donkeys, cattle, and even pigs in the autumn. An extensive network of walking and bicycle trails make the area easy to explore. Minutes away are beaches along the Solent. Lymington is home to a vibrant boating community. The Isle of Wight is easily reachable by ferry. The New Forest is easily accessible by car or train. Or sail into Lymington.
