Your family will love this charming, clean & well maintained home close to Scarborough beach. Enjoy our beach cottage landscaping with beach grasses,hydrangea and rose of sharon. Wireless Internet ready so bring your laptop.

Open, bright kitchen and lviing room with comfortable seating. Modern kitchen with generous storage and counter space includes dishwasher, recessed lighting, tile floor and dining area. Large TV with cable service, DVD & Stereo. Our master bedroom has a Queen plush top mattress, is decorated in fresh red and white and has a second small TV with cable service. The secondary bedrooms each have one queen bed.

Shrubs add privacy to our recently updated deck with gas grill & comfortable patio set. Please read our guest reviews!

Misc Beach and house info.: The entrance to Scarborough State Beach is 7/10 of a mile. Roger Wheeler Beach also known as Sand Hill Cove is approx. 1.5 miles away.

The landscaped back yard provides privacy when seated on the deck and the enclosed hot and cold 'after swim' shower is perfect when returning from the beach.

What makes our home special from the others? Our living room furniture is comfortable upholstered furniture, not futons. Our kitchen table and chairs are not folding or plastic. All bedrooms are nicely decorated, not just the master bedroom.

Our entry doors have screens, so you can enjoy the ocean breezes & keep out unwanted flying pests.

Our deck furniture is NOT a plastic table with plastic 'tub' chairs. And our yard is a cottage delight, with roses, lavender, hydrangea, iris & peonies. Something is always in bloom.

Homeowner managed: This house is managed and rented by the homeowner, not a rental agency. All communication is direct with the homeowner. Each spring the house is scrubbed. All furniture is moved, bedding and curtains are laundered or aired as appropriate. We check on the house between renters each Saturday for the benefit of the guest departing and the guest arriving.

Sorry, our home is not appropriate for large gatherings such as family reunions, hosting celebrations or for groups of singles and our rental agreement prohibits such use.

INTERNATIONAL & LONG DISTANCE RENTER INFO:: This is a self housekeeping cottage. Most of our renters are local to the area and bring their own linens and towels. We can provide these amenities at no charge to international or long distance travelers arriving by plane, but there is a laundering fee. Renters will make their own beds and remove linens at departure. Departure cleaning services are available at an additional charge and are mandatory for multiple week rentals.

5 Minute drive to Block Island ferry, 20 to 25 minutes to Newport. Close to movie theatres, restaurants, and shops. Adventureland for the kids provides mini golf, bumper boats, and batting cages. Bring your bikes. Private deck and yard for grilling and dining. Gas grill and enclosed hot and cold after swim shower.

2 beautiful state beaches to explore, Scarborough State Beach and Roger Wheeler (Sand Hill Cove) State Beach.

Scarborough offers larger waves for boogie board riding and body surfing. Roger Wheeler is a protected cove, great for the little ones. Roger Wheeler offers a playground and craft time for the kids.

Both beaches have lots of parking spaces ( there is a per car parking fee).

Deep Sea fishing charter boats available in the area.

Tour the local waters aboard the Southland.

Buy fresh lobster from local fisherman, caught that same morning, and cook up a feast for dinner!

    A $300 refundable Damage/Security deposit is required for summer rentals.

    Summer reservation Info: A 50% deposit and a signed rental agreement required at time of reservation. Final 50% plus refundable security deposit due 45 days before arrival date.

    Payment: Payment by personal check or bank check in US dollars only. International renters see below for policy.

    Reservations made less than 60 days before arrival require money order or cashier's check or cash on arrival.
  • International renters may pay with bank check in US$ OR For ease of currency conversion, International renters may pay with credit card through PAYPAL. A service charge of 4% will apply to cover paypal fees and cross border fees.

Great Spring Break week for our family!

We enjoyed our Spring Break at this cottage and we had a wonderful week. The house is nicely decorated and had all that we needed. We spent Easter at the cottage and our kids enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt in the back yard. The owners were very helpful when we contacted them about the garbage can lid missing. The owner arrived the following day with two new garbage cans for us! We would love to go back. We also loved the playground that was around the corner! Great week, thanks again!

This house was perfect for our family! Location is excellent and close to everything we wanted to do.The owners were quick to respond and did everything they said would the house was very clean and well cared for we would absolutly look them up for our future vacations.

Husband and I and our twin boys stayed at "Summer Break" the 4th of July week 2010. It was perfect ! The cottage was beautifully maintained and decorated.....we could not have asked for more. Judy has provided every amenity under the sun ! We can not wait to book our week for next summer. Highly recommended for a small family!!!
