Misc Beach and house info.:
The entrance to Scarborough State Beach is 7/10 of a mile. Roger Wheeler Beach also known as Sand Hill Cove is approx. 1 and 1/2 miles away.
The landscaped back yard provides privacy when seated on the deck and the enclosed hot and cold 'after swim' shower is perfect when returning from the beach.
What makes our home special from the others? Our living room furniture is comfortable, upholstered furniture, not futons. Our kitchen table and chairs are not folding or plastic. All beds (except for the trundle) have headboards, not just a frame against the wall, nice for reading in bed. All bedrooms are nicely decorated, not just the master bedroom.
Our entry doors have screens, so you can enjoy the ocean breezes & keep out unwanted flying pests.
Our deck furniture is NOT a plastic table with plastic 'tub' chairs. And our yard is a cottage delight, with roses, lavender, hydrangea, iris & peonies. Something is always in bloom.
Homeowner managed:
This house is managed and rented by the homeowner, not a rental agency. All communication is direct with the homeowner. Each spring the house is scrubbed. All furniture is moved, bedding and curtains are laundered or aired as appropriate. We check on the house between renters each Saturday for the benefit of the guest departing and the guest arriving.
Sorry, our home is not appropriate for large gatherings such as family reunions, hosting celebrations or for groups of singles and our rental agreement prohibits such use.
INTERNATIONAL & LONG DISTANCE RENTER INFO::
This is a self housekeeping cottage. Most of our renters are local to the area and bring their own linens and towels. We can provide these amenities at no charge to international or long distance travelers arriving by plane, but there is a laundering fee. Renters will make their own beds and remove linens at departure. . Departure cleaning services are available at an additional charge and are mandatory for multiple week rentals.
