I love being close to nature, camping, fly fishing, watching wildlife being around animals and just listening to the sounds of birds. Even though I was brought up in the city I always long for enjoying our land and it´s energy. It brings me good emotions and I find it relaxing.
I have a boyfriend, Gisli. Together we have one little girl almost 1 year old. I also have 2 stepdaughters 6 and 9 years old. We live in the city but we use every spear time to go to the summerhouse in Skorradalur.
I graduated as a Registered Nurse in 2002, worked in the cancer unit for several years, have had a company called Hrif since 2005. At Hrif our main goal is to bring health promotion into companies. We assist companies to build up their future health policy, we do lectures and educational courses built in a positive and joyful way, to help the staff to stay focused how important it is to live our life in a healthy and nourishing way. Everything matters, our mind and body and surroundings and the people we meet, work and/or live with.

These 3 cottages are placed in this amazing valley, Skorradalur. Only 1 hour drive from Reykjavik (90 km). Skorradalur is known for calm weather and exceptional nature and has become one of the most popular cottage areas in Iceland for Icelanders. There you can see wildlife just before your eyes, beautiful fields, the lake of Skorradalur, forests and mountains. The cottages are small and simple but very nice. The location is great if you want to explore west of Iceland as day tour suits well for historical places like Reykholt, Husafell were the surroundings are f.ex. glaciers, waterfalls and many more. There is a little over one hour drive to the National park Þingvellir. Day trip to Snaefellsnes, Breidafjordur and the southern part of the Westfjords shows the best Iceland has to offer.
What makes the stay close to perfect staying at our cottages is the location to travel from and the surroundings in Skorradalur. One can feel and enjoy the nature and surroundings with beautiful view and just by 'being' there !

Great place. Small, clean, warm and everything was there. The view from the cottage is brilliant!
We stayed 18 days in the cottage in the summer (2 adults, 2 children - 13 and 15 years). Yes, it works in such a "small" cottage with about 21 sqm. I would say perfect for 2 and three people and with a 4th family member also okay.
Everything is included in the price: bed-linen & towels (including change every 7 days), electricity, water. Very good: a superb Weber grill.
Everything in the cottage is well considered - nice terrace to the south & west with wind protection - spectacular scenic views.
The position - between Reykjavik and Snaefelsness - is perfect for a stay in the western part of Iceland. Distance to Borgarnes only 20km - good Bonus shop!
We can highly recommend the cottage!

Fantastic place to stay. Very good cottages, no issue. Amazing view from window and also outstanding nature near the houses. Quiet and peacefull.
This is a lovely small cottage in great surroundings which has everything you would need. The local area of Borgarnes is only 15 mins away, with supermarkets, a swimming pool which is excellent and a great bakery, yet the cabin feels like you are miles from anywhere. Peaceful, cosy and a good base for exploring the West Coast of Iceland. Perfect for a family of 3.
Very well equipped cottage in nice surroundings.
Everything was neat and clean and you had everything you needed for your stay.
A car is essential to be able to discover Iceland, as the cottage is located quite far from the next city. It was a bit hard to find in the beginning at night, but once we got there everything was fine.
We would recommend the cottage, especially in winter when there are just a few tourists!
A small but very clean and neat cottage with an amazing view over the lake in front of the mountains. The cottage has everything as described, an electric kettle would certainly be appreciated! ;-) We'll definitely take this cabin into consideration if we come back to Iceland some day.
ATM/bank, fitness center, groceries, massage therapist and medical services are located in Borgarnes (15 minutes drive).

Snæfellsnes is a peninsula situated to the west of Borgarfjörður, in western Iceland.
