Ionia House is a beautifully and thoughtfully restored village house, restorations completed in March 2013. Totally modern in design that fit's perfectly in it's neighborhood.
Ionia House provideds two large bedrooms and a sitting area come dining room with wonderful views overlooking the Byzantine castle and as far as the beach.
Beautiful hand crafted kitchen, a modern bathroom and utility area. Ionia House has a spacious private terrace situated in front of the house perfect for dining and relaxing, with comfortable furniture and open fireplace, nice for the cooler days and evnings in winter. Hand crafted stone walls and niches add a beautiful ambiance.
The swimming pool is situated on a spacious terrace with fantastic views over town and as far as the beach, here you will find comfortable sun beds and a shower.
An extra terrace above the pool for enjoying the views and beautiful sunsets each evening.
Ionia House has three terraces, All the terraces and walls are hand crafted with niches and beautiful lighting, one large terrace in front of the house with flower beds, here it is lovely to dine, there is comfortable furniture and an open fire place, nice in the cooler months.
The second is the pool terrace with plenty of room for sunbathing and enjoying, here there are sun loungers and an outside shower.
There is a lovely separate sitting area just by the pool, views are beautiful.
The pool is 13.50 Square meters with a depth of 1.50 meters
The third terrace is a great relaxing area, with a table and comfortable area to sit or lie down and enjoy the sunsets over the castle and ocean.
I have lived and worked in Selcuk for many years, I originally came backpacking to Turkey and fell in love with Selcuk, Turkey, the friendly people, the beautiful sites, the nature and the lifestyle.

Ionia House has stunning views of the Byzantine castle, St John's Church and as far as the beach was my main reason for purchasing this 278 square metre piece land with old house.
Before restoration Ionia House consisted of two connected buildings, the original house and an added extra which was knocked down to make room for the lovely front patio garden.
The house was restored by local talented craftsman, stone masons and carpenters all with pride and passion under the fantastic guidence of a very talanted architect.
Ionia House restorations started in July 2012 and my first guests arrived in March 2013.

We had a fantastic stay at Ionia House, what a beautiful and comfortable property. The facilities were tremendous and we couldn't have asked for more. Breakfast in the sun on the lovely garden patio and the views from the terraces were some of our highlights. The house is perfectly situated, only a five minute stroll to the center of town where we enjoyed some great restaurants and of course the beautiful sites including the St Johns Church and the Isabey Mosque. Alison, the owner of the house was amazingly helpful and arranged our airport transfers and hire car ( Very reasonable rates ) and was on hand, just a call away, when we needed anything. All in all, everything was perfect.
The nearest beach is Pamucak, very quiet and 14km of beautiful golden sand, by private car 10 mins from Selcuk, by local mini bus the same. Further beaches can be reached in Kusadasi and many bays can be reached within 20-30 mins drive.

For anyone who loves history, here could not be better, with a huge amount of wonderful sites, Ephesus, St John's Church, Artemis Temple, one of the 7 Ancient wonders of the World, Mary's House on your doorstep, Selcuk is a fantastic base for visiting the many sites in the area.
Many opportunities for anyone particularly interested in archaeology, painting and magnificent hiking.
How to get there
Izmir, Adnan Menderes international airport is approx 50 mins by car.
Transfers can be arranged at an additional charge, Ferries to Samos, Greek island, leave daily from Kusadasi. A good day trip to be able to enjoy the different cultures of 2 close neighbours. Car hire not essential, but useful for at least some of time if planning to visit some of other locations around Selcuk. This can be arranged at very reasonable rates, enquire when booking.
Selcuk centre is only 5 mins walk into town along the old Roman aqueduct. The pretty Greek village Sirince is about 8km from Selcuk. Most of the attractions in Selcuk can be reached on foot or by local buses.
Selcuk has all the necessary shopping facilities, banks, restaurants etc, and there are some very good restaurants in town and some of the surrounding villages. Every Saturday there is a beautiful local market selling fresh produce and anything that you could need during your stay.
Guests will be met by Alison, the property manager, who is fluent in both English and Turkish, she will be available throughout your stay to help with any queries, provide information and if needed to make travel/trip arrangements. The main attractions are the historical sites locally at Ephesus, St John's basilica, Virgin Mary's House, Seven sleepers and Selcuk museum all only a few minutes drive away. It is also an excellent base to visit some of the other major attractions in this part of Turkey including Aphrodisias, Miletus, Metropolis, Priene and Didyma. All within 1-2 hours drive. Further afield, to Pamukkale and Heirapolis are well worth visiting, or boat trips from Fetiye or Marmaris can be arranged.

Notes on prices:
For for four nights or under there is a minimum rental price of 140 Sterling per night or 695 Sterling for up to one week.
I try and be as flexible as possible to suit arrival and departure times of guests.
35 Sterling cleaning fee required for bookings of 2 nights, 3 nights or more no cleaning fee required
I ask that a non refundable deposit of 25% of the total rental price is paid by credit card, Pay Pal or bank transfer to secure your booking and the balance to be paid on arrival at the property.
Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (GBP) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.
