SUMMER HOUSE W/ KAYAKS ON COVE

Cape Porpoise Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, sleeps 4

Our delightful summer home in Cape Porpoise, Kennebunkport is bright and welcoming. It is located on a dead end street within walking distance to Cape Porpoise village. We are secluded but close to everything.

This unique cottage has two stories. The second floor has a master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and sliders to a deck overlooking the cove. There are custom bunk beds in the second bedroom and a large closet. Downstairs, the living room has a Sealy sectional sleep sofa, cable TV, DVD and a wood burning stove. This room can be closed off for privacy.

A large, modern, eat-in kitchen with dishwasher and eating area for 5 people. Our bath is fully updated and has a shower.

Sliding glass doors take you out to a fenced-in yard with a brick patio equipped with table/chairs and Weber grill. There are ceiling fans throughout the cottage, a/c upstairs and baseboard heating.

Our cottage has a Right of Way to Sampson Cove, with ocean access. This is part of the Rachel Carson Bird Sanctuary and Kennebunkport Conservation Trust. Great Egrets nest here. You will find our kayaks on the cove and are Included in the rental with paddles and adult PFDs. You can kayak a little further to Cape Porpoise Harbor and its protected islands. Find secluded beaches, explore deserted islands or paddle out to to Goat Island Lighthouse to picnic on the rocks.

Our local beach is Goose Rocks Beach which is a few miles north along Rt. 9. You can bike there or take you car if you get a sticker.

Cape Porpoise: Our village is in Kennebunkport but far from the crowds. It is a small community of lobstermen and locals where people remember you and always say hello. It's a 5 minute walk along the sidewalk to the village center. Many people come to eat at Nunan's but there are other restaurants like The Wayfarer (BYOB) and the Captain's Table. You can walk to the pier which is a 3/4 mile walk or ride your bike. Here you'll find the CP lobster co-op, Pier Chowder House (clam shack) and Pier 77 ( fine dining restaurant) and The Ramp pub downstairs. The view of the lighthouse is spectacular and as are the sunsets

Our cottage supplies non-toxic household products free and clear of dyes and scents, sheets and towels.

Cape Porpoise Vacation House

  • 5 of 5
We loved Cape Porpoise and the house was in a great location. Hidden away near the cove but close to everything in town. We walked to the pier, the market, the restaurants.
It was clean, well equipped and comfortable.
Kayaks and all the necessary gear are a great perk.
The people in charge of the keys and the cleaning made themselves readily available and were very friendly.
Though there was no wifi at the house, one could use the wifi at the motel which was less than 5 minutes away.
Description is accurate.
Would love to go back someday.

Wonderful experience!

  • 5 of 5
I loved the trip up to Cape Porpoise. The area was beautiful, the cottage was exactly as described, and my friends and I had a wonderful time. I would not hesitate to head up again to the Kennebunkport area - or rent the same cottage! - for an instant.

Great Time!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I had a wonderful time at the kayak cottage. It was close to the beach without the crazy traffic. We didnt kayak but everything was there if we wanted to. The Lobster pot was used all weekend long as was the grill. Nice shady area in the back for our pouch.
Highly recommedened to couples. Listening to the fog horn was very romantic!

Great get-away!

  • 5 of 5
Wow! We had no idea that old-time Maine villages were still so close to Boston. We loved listening to the fog horn in the distance and kayaking out to the islands during the day. GREAT place for us and our dog. We walked him on the beach everyday. Lobster Lobster Lobster...need I say more. Hardly used the car except when we went to Freeport for LL Bean. Cottage and yard were perfect and very clean!

A Great place to stay!!!!

  • 5 of 5
A great cozy place to stay. It's just a walk away from some great places, but far enough away from the noise of Kennebunkport. I'm looking forward to coming here again.
