This is a bright, comfortable cottage surrounded by unique and creative gardens. It is such an easy walk to the beach. It is one of four cottages known as Beach Garden Cottages. (See links at bottom of page to other cottages). It is very clean and was recently renovated. It has a first floor bedroom with a double bed and a spacious loft bedroom with a queen bed and double futon. The loft is accessed by a spiral staircase.

There is a private deck surrounded by flowering shrubs and perennial beds and a large, shared, fenced-in yard - great for kids!! The cottage is located on a quiet street only a short walk to Newport's Easton's Beach (a.k.a First Beach). First Beach has a public facilities, a carousel and playground. Restaurants are within walking distance and downtown Newport is only 1 1/2 miles away. It is a great area for walking, running, biking, roller blading, surfing and kayaking. All equipment available to rent nearby

The cottages are located on a quiet side street tucked back behind a hedge. It is an easy walk to the beach of about two blocks. There are no fees to walk on to the beach. There are restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. The downtown Newport waterfront is about 2 miles away where there is wonderful shopping, dining and nightlife. There is so much to do - Mansion tours, Fort Adams, Brenton State Park, Cliff Walk, harbor tours, day trips to a variety of quaint sea-side villages. Our guests love enjoying all the hustle and bustle of things to do in the Newport area but then being able to come back and enjoy the serene garden surroundings of our cottages.

Great for family vacation

My family and I spent a week in mid July and had a great time! The spiral stairs were not much of an incovenience, even with our two young girls. We did find the step from the entry area to the living area a bit of a hassle as we had a newly crawling 10 month old who had to learn to negotiate that step as she was crawling around. It was within easy walking distance to the beach and had some restaurants and convenience stores within a short walk as well. The gardens were gorgeous and you felt quite secluded having coffee on the patio. It is someplace we would definitely visit again, though this time we would be sure to request the air conditioning!!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Most relaxing

We stayed the weekend of June 11-13.

It is a very convenient location to Newport (Ocean Walk is walking distance). The landscaping is awesome, you feel very secluded. The cottage itself was warm and inviting.

The owners were most accommodating. All in all I would whole heartedly recommend.

Great vacation cottage. Close to the beach.

My husband & I rented this cottage the last week of August 2008 with another couple. We had a wonderful week long vacation. The cottage is very clean, cute & cozy with beautiful landscaping. It is about 2 blocks from Easton Beach, about 1 mile from the Cliff Walk, & about 1.5 miles from downtown Newport, which makes it easy & convenient to access all the local attractions. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. They quickly respond to emails. This is definitely a recommended stay.
