Charming cottage with full kitchen, heated, nice views of the ocean from living room and patio. Cute backyard for a barbecue complete with stone wall and field beyond part of Rocky Shores Condominium in an estate setting where you can walk down the drive and along a magnificent outer cape shoreline and visit Loblolly Cove. Great for launching kayaks or catching stripers or visit Pebble Beach nearby for a swim. Watch the sunrises over Thacher's Island from living room - private patio & backyard. Downtown Rockport is a scenic 2 mile walk or bike ride with a sidewalk all the way. Artists will love the spectacular location. 2009 change - new mattresses and refrigerator.

Location: Cottage is located on estate grounds with other cottages. It has its own back yard and side patio with views of ocean and lighthouses. Walk 1/4 mile to a rocky cove great fishing kayaking, scuba diving, 1/2 mile to a sandy beach good for swimming. 3 miles from Rockport center with shops, restaurants, and galleries. Location is wonderful for artists and photographers . My guests include honeymooners, as well as small families, singles

Other Activities: whale watching ,harbor and island tours, kayaking, train to Boston

Rockport calls to me each year, and I try to visit at the end of tourist season. I've been staying in the same cottage for many years through a couple of owners. I find it comfortable and peaceful, away from the activity of town. I don't turn on the TV or the radio...enjoying the silence. The view down the hill to Thacher Island's twin lighthouses is my special treat with morning coffee. A walk to Flat Rock along the ocean road is a must on my agenda.
When I'm ready for the world, I find many favorite spots around Rockport, Gloucester, Essex, and other easily reached destinations which make delightful day trips. I travel alone and feel completely safe when I return to the cottage at the end of the day.

Fab location to explore MA and surrounding states. The cottage sits in a lovely spot, surrounded by woodland and with good view of the sea. Just outside Rockport and has good beaches within a few miles. Wingaersheek beach is the best but get there early. The cottage is not ultra modern but was very clean and has all the things you need for the stay. The owner is very friendly and very helpful. No hesitation recommending to a friend.

Compact Cottage, great situation

Booked this cottage before finding this website, yes the cottage is compact (I'd say 4 adults would be tight) and the bathroom is tiny, but everything works and the location is fantastic.

Note that the only Internet access is dial-up and you'll need a local access number as the phone is limited to local calls.

The owner is great, happy to give detailed directions and very accommodating.

Didn't find the beds uncomfortable at all, and the provision of screens throughout means that the lack of a/c isn't an issue at night.

The sea can only be seen from the patio and one of the lounge windows, but it's a short walk away.

Cable TV is provided, about 17 channels.

The kitchen has most things you'll need to go self catering, although a few mixing bowls wouldn't go amiss!
There is a small BBQ at the rear.

In general I'd recommend this cottage, and with a few small updates it could be even nicer.

owner was very accomodating.
beds were uncomfortable.
bathroom/kitchen cramped and outdated/finishes worn out.
very minimal in ammenities.
Owner's Response: First complaint I've had on new Queen sized mattress by Serta -seems comfortable to me. Yes, the kitchen is cottage style, but appliances are new within 3 years and refrigerator is new this year.
