Smith Family Cottages features 3 clean, two-bedroom cottages situated on beautiful Mullett Lake, just north of Topinabee, Michigan. Mullett Lake is part of Michigan's famed Inland Waterway, offering over forty miles of lakes and rivers to boat, sail, and explore. World class fishing is just steps away from your door where you can enjoy a dock, boat lift, and mourings. Don't miss the Walleye run in June! Each cottage has a full kitchen with sink, stove, refrigerator/freezer, and cooking/eating utensils. The bathroom is a simple design with a sink, toilet and shower. Cottages are finished with tongue/groove pine inside and have propane heaters for those cool Up-North nights. Bed spreads are provided, just bring your own linens and towels. The cottages sit atop a small bluff, allowing access to the lake and large private dock via a short flight of stairs. A common area and patio in front overlooking the lake is great for picnics in the shade during a hot summer day.

For the outdoor enthusiast, the options are endless. Mullett Lake and nearby Burt Lake (short boat trip through the Indian River) have world-class walleye and northern pike fishing. Trout fisherman can indulge in the blue ribbon waters of the Sturgeon River, Pigeon River, or Maple River which are all within 20 minutes. We are located just 3 miles from I-75. Other watersports such as swimming, skiing, boating, sailing, jet skiing, kayaking, etc. are available right out your front door. First-class golf courses, hiking, biking and ATV trails are also just minutes away. Explore Mackinaw Island, Fort Michilimackinac, Soo Locks or the Mackinaw Bridge. August highlights the Inland Waterway Boat race. Fall color tours extend to the end of October. When in doubt, soak up the sun on the dock and just relax!

Great Stay, Great Price

I used to stay at these cabins as a kid and stop in every now and then when passing by to see them again. These are spartan but comfortable cabins. No TV or phones which is what you want sometimes on vacation. Mullett Lake is great for boating, fishing and swimming. There is great swimming off the end of the dock and buoy's to tie your boat to. No muck or weeds, just a hard sandy bottom. There are a few steps that go down to the water so if you have young children, they they may need help getting to the dock. Close to Cheboygan, Mackinaw and Petoskey. If you want clean, comfortable and basic cabins at a great rate, this is your place to stay for your next vacation.
