The house is located in the McQueeney area on a 150 foot span of the Guadalupe River. Downtown New Braunfels is only 12 minutes away. Rock'n R River Rides offers shuttle service to and from the house to the upper tubing area. There is public access nearby for launching boats and Jet-skis. This portion of the river is constant level. The water level has remained constant throughout this extended lack of rain fall.
A comfortable shaded outdoor setting is provided with a 70 foot lighted fishing pier/Boat Dock, a large upper deck overlooking the river and an additional patio with gas grill. The large yard is shaded by huge 100 plus year old pecan trees and is perfect for outdoor gatherings.
The house is a 2 story house built on the side of a hill overlooking the river. The upper level is ground level to the street and circle driveway. It includes three bedrooms, one has a king-size bed, half bath and color TV with Cable. The second has a King Bed and a Queen-size bed and a full bath, the third bedroom has a King-size bed and an additional full bathroom in the hallway. The large kitchen is open to the main living area that overlooks the river with a panoramic view.
The lower level is ground level to the river and back yard. It sleeps ten, 2 of the 3 bedrooms have king beds, the other is a Queen size bed. Lower level also has a full-size kitchen and a full bathroom. It is complete with a great view of the river from the Hot Tub located in its main living area.
The house totals 6 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and has complete kitchens in both the upper and lower level of the house. The house can comfortably sleep 14 people in private bedrooms and sleep an additional 4 people on futon sofa's that open up into full size beds. One of the futon sofa beds is in the bar area which does provide a mostly private sleeping area.
In spring of 2006 we added a New Guest House with over a thousand square feet of living space. The addition includes 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms including a whirlpool bathtub. 2 bedrooms have King size beds, the other 2 are Queen size beds. It has a complete kitchen with a side by side refrigerator. New for 2012 the guest house includes a Home Theater. The room is set up to project Video Games, Blue Ray, DVDs cable TV in HD onto a 100' screen. A THX certified 7.1 surround sound system brings movies to life with sound quality that meets or in most cases exceeds movie theater sound quality.
Located next to the main house, a patio allows access between both houses. The guest house not only provides additional sleeping areas for larger groups, it also offers complete privacy from the main group.
The house can comfortably sleep 22 people in high quality beds. ( King Beds are over $3,000 each). 4 additional people can sleep on sofa beds, plus 1 person can sleep on each of the 3 full size leather sofas.
Both houses combined create a large vacation home offering 10 bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths, 3 kitchens, large deck, patio, 70' pier over the river and a indoor hot tub. With 3 living area's and over 4,300 square feet of living space, this vacation home offers much privacy for larger groups to spread out. Shuttle Service to and from the house is available by Bella Luna Shuttle service. They can accommodate large groups, drop you off at most all surrounding attractions and pick you up for return trip back to the house. Contact us for more information.

Make Ready Fee includes 26 plus hours of combined work cleaning, doing yard, doing laundry, making beds, stocking 60-100 clean towels, cleaning deck, bbq pit, cleaning hot tub etc...Plus we provide high quality toilet paper, bar soap, and air freshener for each bathroom. Also includes propane for grill, dish soap, dishwasher powder, laundry soap, dryer sheets and trash bags. On average our actual cost for make ready is $345-$385 to prepare main and guest house.
RESERVATION PROCESS: Email us for a rate quote and to confirm dates are currently available. Please let us know if you wish to include the guest house. When your ready to commit to your requested dates email us stating you wish to commit to your requested dates. At that time we will confirm your dates are still available and place a temporary hold on your dates. We will then email to you a questionnaire to get additional information needed. Once we get your reply we will extend the hold on your dates and email to you our guest agreement. We will ask that you print out the agreement and mail to us a signed original copy along with a check for the $500 security deposit. Upon receipt we will email to you a confirmation and receipt for deposit. Rent is typically due 60 days before arrival. Security deposit is refundable by mail following your departure. Reservations are taken by email only so that we both have a written record of all steps throughout the process. You are welcome to call anytime with any questions you may have. We are not set up to take credit cards. Upon request we will often work with you regarding payment arrangements. All payments are made only to Darius Kuehne 240 Lee street. Any payment request to any other name / address is fraudulent and should be reported immediately.

Although this section is intended to be about the home owner, our reviews describe myself far better then anything I can say here. River Haven is actually more about the team of us who work together with the goal of having all guests completely enjoy there stay at the house. It has been my experience that even the greatest of houses if not properly taken care of can adversely effect your vacation. With a house and yard so large, high demand for rentals and a passion for providing a great experience for all of those who vacation here, it takes a team of us working together to maintain our high standards. A group of 4 of us work to accomplish this goal. Each of us truly have a passion for what we do. 3 of the 4 of us live close by and try to remain on call in the event anything whatsoever is requested by any of the guests staying at the house.We work hard to assure each guest arrives to a picture perfect setting, both inside and out. We listen closely to any suggestions guest have and immediately address any issues that may arise. We put a lot of thought into any conveniences we can add or improve upon. And we try to offer significant improvements each year so that returning guests always arrive to find that things just keep getting better. I was living in Austin and a drought had effected the lake levels. I heard that the lake area's of the Guadalupe River were constant level and were not effected by the drought. I traveled here one weekend to ride my jet ski. I was amazed by the beauty of the river/ lake area. The people were so friendly and I found myself not wanting to ever return back home to Austin. I started looking into purchasing a home along the river in this area and moved here a couple months later. After 20 months of remodeling the house, it simply became more then I could financially handle. So this began the nightly rentals of the house. Over the following years I would ask guests renting the house there opinions of the house and for there suggestions as to any improvements that could be made. Each year I invested the profits into making improvements with the goal of having the nicest vacation rental house in the area.
The house is designed, decorated and laid out to meet the needs of the guests. Additionally most water front houses are very close together with neighbors right next to you. The average lot size seems to often be about 40 foot of water front. This house has 150 feet of waterfront and nearly an acre of land. While sitting on the main deck you simply feel as though you have full privacy. There are only 3 houses nearby. In many areas the neighbors hate being next to a vacation rental and will often complain and fight to close the vacation rental down. The neighbors near my rental house are very nice and respectful to guests. Also I live in the area, should any issues arise or assistance be needed, I am usually available and can be of assistance within a short period of time. To maintain our high standard and commitment to the house and rentals, this is my full time job. Carlos Carranza, Denise Shawn and Jason Angelo also work full time to help handle the work load of the upkeep of the house, yard maintenance and office work involved in this waterfront property.
