We had a great time, traveled around the neat nearby towns, went snow mobiling in Tannersville, and spotted a whitetail deer in the driveway, enjoyed the fireplace and views of the Esopus River. From former New Yorkers who transplanted to Florida 25 yrs ago who go back to NY to see what they left to begin with....Make sense? Thanks for offering your home at a reasonable price for all to enjoy!!!
Visited the Catskills region from Miami during peak leaf season this Fall. My family and I loved the cabin. Conveniently located (just 3 minutes away from Phoenicia and 30 minutes from Kaaterskill Falls and Woodstock), it was more spacious and prettier than in the pictures. We enjoyed very much the lovely fireplace and the beautiful natural surroundings. Cheryl and Paul were amazing.
My husband and I spent labor day weekend at the cabin and truly enjoyed ourselves. Paul and Cheryl were great and the cabin was spotless and beautifully appointed. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, the BBQ and fire pit were great and the view outside looking into the forest with the running stream beside us was spectacular. Although it was a busy time being a long weekend, and the you could hear the noise of the cars on the highway, the surroundings made up for that. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this cabin.
My husband and I had a last minute idea to escape the city. With only three days away from the weekend, we came across the "Secluded Mountain Retreat," and Paul & Cheryl were more than accomodating to make this happen! We arrived Friday night, and walked into a beautiful, warm, inviting, cozy cabin, with a homemade apple bread waiting for us on the table. The property, and the cabin are very well maintained and super clean, and even had two dog runs for our two small yorkies to enjoy in the snow. The fire place was great on the cold winter nights, and well stocked with all the logs you could need. We enjoyed the shops at nearby Catamount, the fresh fruit & vegetable store, the little town of Phoenicia with a delicious breakfast at Sweet Sues, and just relaxing in front of the wide screened TV and fireplace. We can't wait to go back, and would love to bring along our grandchildren!
My 5 friends and I had a mini pre-New Years vacation in this cabin and it was perfect! We had everything we needed and the Gregory's were so kind and friendly.
A note for future guests - the water in the cabin is well water so it's pretty stinky. It's not that bad to shower in and drink once it's boiled (plus it's good for your skin) but bring plenty of bottled, fresh water to drink. Just an FYI, I'm not sure if it's mentioned in the description of the cabin.
Other than that we had a really relaxing, comfortable, and spectacular stay. Definitely recommend it.
Great, Great location. Upon arrival, the smell of autumn leaves and the fast running brook fills your senses. The cabin is small, well appointed with beautiful decore. Everything is clean and ready for enjoyment. A trip to the river not far from the cabin is a must! Stars are abundant at night as you warm next to a fire by the brook. An excellent seafood restaurant is available within 3 miles. Nature,Fishing,Hiking or loafing. Perfect spot to do all. Paul and Cheryl are pleased to help with even the smallest details. Highly Reccommended!
