Overview

Chiswick & Hounslow House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home complete with enviable views over the Thames

Making waves

A short stroll from bustling Hammersmith, this striking home is perched riverside. While the sitting room overlooks a leafy curve of the Thames, the secluded terrace’s dining area has an even closer view. Inside, polished wood, veined marble and sleek leather prevail, while imposing artworks include an oversized abstract of bronze and charcoal. Linger a while to admire the flamboyant decorations: the contemporary bust sculpture, the Buddha ornament, the ancient sword. Or simply curl in one of the antique chairs by the window to watch London’s river traffic pass leisurely by.

Casting off

Your host’s work life couldn’t be busier – he’s a media entrepreneur, and also holds several directorships. He loves retreating to his waterside home, and spends much of his time boating on the Thames or taking long walks along its banks.

Quiet moorings

It’s tempting to idle through this pleasant part of London. Shop and sip in the independent boutiques and cafés of villagey Chiswick, or simply take a turn along this scenic stretch of the Thames – meandering home to Lord Napier Place will be an equal pleasure. The sleek marble bathrooms come complete with walk-in showers and wide bathtubs, and the contemporary kitchen is as slick as it is well-equipped. And there are softer, textural charms too. Plump cushions and sumptuous throws drape the sofas and beds, while up in the serene master suite an ingenious suspended bed offers a particularly inviting spot to float away to.

About Owner / Property Manager

onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.

Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.

Why Owner / Property Manager chose Chiswick & Hounslow

To the west of Hammersmith and north of Kew, Chiswick carries its rich cultural heritage lightly.

Chiswick High Road, with its Amazonian width, seethes with fleet-footed locals moving from morning coffee to quick-fix mani at Cowshed to sourcing mid-century modern furniture at the Old Cinema.

It’s not mere chance that an outpost of members' club Soho House has rooted itself here – High Road House provides a hub for creative residents who see no need to trawl the city to meet the likeminded, filling the al-fresco brasserie for productively long lunches in the sun.

Every London neighbourhood worth its salt has a secret street where independent shops and boutiques congregate, and here Devonshire Road fills that criteria perfectly: Damsel sheaths locals in Citizens of Humanity denim and Chiswick Pets kits out the pooches. Evenings are rounded off at La Trompette, a restaurant legendary for being superlative without being snobbish – a trait that permeates this whole territory.

What makes this house unique

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.

Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.

Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
