A large, full floor Edwardian flat built in 1904 and updated with modern conveniences. The quiet flat is located in the famous Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco (this is in the Upper Haight rather than the Lower Haight). There are two bedrooms with queen-sized beds and one smaller bedroom with a single/twin bed. There is a large living room as well as a separate dining room which also has a sofa bed for one person. The dining room can be closed off to make a FOURTH BEDROOM. There is a large, fully equipped modern kitchen with granite counters. The shops and restaurants of Haight Street and Cole Street are nearby. Playgrounds, tennis, and Golden Gate Park is a 10 minutes walk. There is a nice backyard with morning sun. The flat is fully equipped: wireless broadband internet, 42 inch TV, linens, fully equipped modern kitchen with dishwasher and washer/dryer. This is the most central location in San Francisco, with all areas of the city (Union Square, Castro, Marina, North Beach, Downtown) just minutes away. Napa wine country is an easy hour away. Public transportation is just around the corner. Street parking only.
Richard is the consummate host. His flat is immaculate with thoughtful details, such as a check-out list on the refrigerator, an iron and ironing board, laundry detergent, hotel-quality sheets and towels, warm comforters and comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, and a wide variety of books and magazines. The space is light and bright with comfortable furniture and absolutely no clutter. It's like a very high-end hotel. Three of us who are professional colleagues from across the country stayed in his place and all felt extremely safe. We appreciated the three private rooms, as well as the common spaces for conversation.
Richard texted us to ensure we were able to get into the flat and checked in with us about the quality of our stay. He even left us a bottle of wine and Halloween candy! When one of our colleagues left a shirt behind, Richard offered to mail it. We can't wait to travel to San Francisco again and to stay at Richard's place. His attention to detail, investment in our experience, and thoughtfulness were extraordinary.
My family really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful Victorian. It was clean and well appointed. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Richard is a great owner. He gave us all the information we needed about the house and the surrounding area. He was always available if we had a question. I would definitely stay here again.
I came to SF for a girls weekend with 6 other girls and this flat fit us perfectly. With the nice sized living room with the beautiful window looking out on the street and the large kitchen and dining area, we had plenty of room! It does only have one restroom but has plenty of mirrors hung about for girls to get ready in :) It's very clean and well appointed! It's literally less than a block away from Haight street which has tons of great restaurants and shopping. Surprisingly, parking was a snap. We had three cars and all of us parked less than 3 blocks away from the house. Richard was a breeze to work with and even supplies you with a list of his favorite sights and restaurants around the flat. An altogether wonderful experience!
Richard is a very nice owner. He's so easy going and helpful all the way with the booking, check-in and check-out. You don't believe he just helped me sending some Amazon's products from US to HongKong! I'm so appreciate for his help and kindness, which exceed his job as a vacation home's owner :D
Our first visit to San Francisco and meaningful to be able to stay in this historic house. We had very comfortable 4 nights stay for the 6 of us (3 generations). The location is convenient. Kids had Ben & Jerry every night and my parents enjoyed the short walk to grocery shopping early in the morning. Richard sends us personal emails prior to arrival with directions and list of things we can do in SFO. Thank you.
Our family had a wonderful time staying is this beautiful flat. It was very nice of the owner to stop by and see how we were. This flat had everything we would ever need. It was also close to all. We enjoyed our walks around Golden Gate Park, Haight Street and the neighborhood had many great restaurants. We were just a few blocks from bus stops to go anywhere we would like to go.
When we booked we were happy to get a list of the owners favorite spots. There are so many great places to see and eat. I only wish we had longer to stay. It was such a lovely and very comfortable flat. We hope to return. I highly recommend this rental.
Thank you -
Wonderful apartment in the middle of Haight-Ashbury district. The apartment is suitable for 4-5 people and is fully equipped, it is mainly in the kitchen everything you need for a stay in the city.
Everything was very clean, towels and bedding were already prepared. The house is a typical Victorian house in the old style, so you live in the city's history.
Nearby there is a large organic supermarket (Whole Foods, about 15 minutes to walk), a large Safeway is about 10 minutes away by car. Parking is a not a big issue, only once we had to find a place longer and then stood around 10 minutes away. Attention: all roads in the area have once a week for a few hours a no-stopping because of street cleaning, but is clearly stated.
The location is very good, from the hustle of Haight Street (one block away) you get hardly anything with. The MUNI station is about 20 minutes away on foot, at night might be a taxi is the better alternative.
Small disadvantages of the flat: only one bathroom and a (separate) toilet, which can be a bit crowded with 5 persons, in the living room, there is actually only space for 3 1/2 persons on the couch.
A quiet, full floor flat located in the famous Haight-Ashbury distrct of San Francisco, a block away from the bustling Haight Street. Easy access to Golden Gate Park, restaurants, museums, and shops.
