Much more then a camp! What a great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our family came down from Muskegon, Mi. with a party of 8 to stay for a week at Mardi Gras time. The camp was great! Plenty of room to relax, the rooms were clean, and the living areas were set up to socialize as well as cook. Everything you would need was supplied, but your own blankets and bath towels. The Roy's were friendly and helpful as we planned our trip down. The photos of the place do not do it justice! We all had fun on the back waterway, day and nite. The beach is only a few minute walk and is beautiful! The island is a trip in itself without leaving to explore anywhere else. We were glad to see how great the people that live there are when we were out at the local businesses. If we come back down that way we will for sure contact the Roy's for a place to stay!

Oct. Review

  • 4 of 5

We stayed basically the whole month of October. My wife and I were there by ourselves most of the time. Being able to dock my boat right at the camp is a big plus. The ice machine is also a big plus in not having to go buy ice each day. I brought my boiling pot and burner and caught enough crabs in my traps to have two nice boils. We enjoyed the camp and if all goes right will be going back in 2015.

Vacation Camp Rental

This is a great camp to rent. If you have a boat, it has a canal access to the camp where you can dock your boat right in front of the camp. The Ice Machine was a plus. The Kitchen is furnished fully with everything you would need (dishes, utensils, pots, bowls, etc). The owner Mr. Roy is a very nice man to deal with. We would recommend this property to anyone. We liked it so much we are going back again in October.

Wonderful family gathering

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent 5 nights in a place that my family truly loves. So instead of staying in a hotel I decided to rent a camp so we could really enjoy our company. I started looking online and found this camp. We loved it !!!! The camp is so family friendly. Everyone had their own room and their own bed. The location was the best and Mr Roy is the sweetest gentleman to deal with. Would we stay their again??? Absolutely!!! We loved the house and also caught some beautiful fish.

"Great time"

  • 5 of 5

This was a great spot! Close to the beach; crabbing, and fishing all right in the general vicinity. The camp was comfortable and large enough to accommodate our group. Having an ice machine on site was a plus! Our teenage sons had a ball throwing their castnet for brown shrimp off the dock behind the camp. The grandkids fell in love with the hammock on the back porch. If we couldn't find the kids, that was the place to look. We even got to see several otters playing near the dock on our morning of departure. We are looking forward to another trip down in September.

Thanks for a great time,

The Tournillons

Great Time!!!

  • 5 of 5

If you like to fish, this is a great place for it. The house had almost everything you need. If you have a boat the dock in back the house is perfect. My husband and son caught all the live shrimp we needed for bait right off the back dock. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys the water.

Map

Grand Isle is famous for it's great fishing, shrimping, crabbing, birdwatching, etc. To relax -walk the beach in the morning or early evening, watching the huge shrimp boats offshore (you can buy fresh shrimp off the docks or catch your own). Charter boats are available for hire. Grand Isle=incredible fishing. In the bays, surf or on 'the Rocks' - speckled and white trout, rat reds, flounder etc. Offshore-red snapper, grouper, Ling, King Mackerel, amberjack, tarpon, etc. Grand Isle has several fishing rodeos. The 'Old Bridge' is fun fishing and lighted at night. You can set crab traps in the bay, crab lines in the Gulf. Gig flounder at night with a lantern. Visit our beautiful State Park. An old fort is across the west end. G.I. (7 miles long) has a large grocery, churches and several Marinas. Come to Grand Isle - you'll love it. Bring the kiddies. Water ski and Scuba Dive.
