Colony by the Sea Condominiums are conveniently nestled oceanfront in Duck. Away from the main road, they offer privacy, yet are in walking distance to the Sound side of the Island and the little town of Duck. Colony by the Sea is a favorite for guests of all ages.

Wee Duck Inn is a cozy second floor unit, newly furnished, offering great views of the ocean and courtyard. It is perfect for a couple or small family. The bedroom offers a queen-size bed, TV w/DVD and a full master bath. The bunk beds in the hall alcove are perfect for children & located next to a second smaller full bath. The large living room allows for very comfortable accommodations, offering a queen sleep sofa, 42' flatscreen TV, stereo and DVD player. A fully equipped kitchen includes all new major appliances and every small appliance you will need for dining in. The private balcony is perfect for relaxing or dining outside. Grills in courtyard. Free WIFI.

Our condo is tastefully decorated with beach decor

The view of the ocean is breathtaking from the second floor balcony, which is furnished with a patio table and chairs for the outside casual dining experience, overlooking the couryard.

The complex features: oceanfront pool; charcoal grills w/picnic area; laundry facility; swings; tennis, volleyball and basketball court; ocean front pool; beachside showers & restroom.

Our unit is a non smoking unit. We do not allow pets in our unit.

The ocean sunrises and sound side sunsets seen from Duck are breathtaking. At the complex you can enjoy all the amenities it offers. Take your family for a walk or ride your bikes along the bike path to the little ocean town of Duck. Among all the little shops you will find restaurants offering wide varieties of tastey dishes, a seafood market, a newly built park with a play area for the little ones and an awesome boardwalk that takes you out over the sound. For anyone seeking a place of worship, there is a beautiful United Methodist Church overlooking the water. For only a short drive, Corolla to the north and Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, and Manteo to the south, you will find golf courses, fishing, boating, recreational facilities, historical sites, and an array of shops and restaurants.

Wonderful Vacation Spot

This is our second year renting the Wee Duck Inn...we absolutely love it...it is so close to the pool and beach just a short walk..it is located in the center of Duck where there is great shopping and dining.....Only a short drive to Corolla or out to 158 for great dining. Can't wait to rent again next year.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Just what we needed!

My husband and I had a bad winter due to illness. We decided at the last minute to get away for a week. Our time at Wee Duck Inn was just what we needed.
Our first impression of the condo was how clean it was. We enjoyed every minute of our stay from that time on. The bed was comfy, the furniture was bright,cheery, and pristine. (My hubby especially enjoyed the papasan chair). The condo was well-equipped. We did not want for anything.
We never saw one of the nicest features of this condo ---the owners. Gwen and Roger were so accommodating, helpful, and nice. Renting from them is a much better experience than renting from a large, impersonal company.
Don't hesitate to rent Wee Duck Inn!

Wee Duck Inn Awesome

I would definitely suggest for small families and couples to stay @ Wee Duck Inn. We were expecting much less and recieved much more. The property was very clean ( we both have a bit of OCD ) A easy walk to the beach. The beach is wider here compared to many places I have stayed @ prior to Wee Duck. Not only that, the owners take pride in the property, and seem to care about the vacationers. Wee Duck was very comfortable, we did not want for anything. Book selection, movies, well stocked kitchen, even clothes pins outside to hang wet items and love the rocking chairs on the deck !!!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children

I thoroughly enjoyed my week. I was only steps away from the sitting on the beach! All in all, the condo itself was terrific. The unit was clean, well-maintained and communications before and after the rental were timely and complete. The proximity to the Village of Duck and all it has to offer was perfect - very centrally located. It's a perfect getaway location!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Romantic Getaway

Absolutely Perfect

We spent a week in mid-August (2009) at Wee Duck Inn. It was absolutely perfect. The condo was comfortable, airy and clean, as were the beach and the pool, which are both on the same side of the road, you don't even need to put on your shoes to get there. Some things that were particularly special - the kitchen includes a full set of pots, pans and cookware, there are washers and dryers in the basement area, and particularly helpful to us, the newly- installed wireless internet. This was great (!!), as we were able to check out restaurant menus and operating times of various attractions (check out the North Carolina Aquarium, the shark tank is amazing), and for the first time in our many years of visiting the Outer Banks, we arranged for tickets to the Lost Colony pageant at Roanoke. The condo community is peaceful and family-oriented. We have already arranged to return for 2010, I can't wait.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Young Children
