This exquisite log home is unlike anything else in Bar Harbor. Newly built with every attention to detail and décor, it was designed to be a perfect retreat for guests with the most discriminating tastes. When you walk in you are met with a breathtaking living room and dining area with hardwood floors, a large stone fireplace, down sofa, wrought-iron chandeliers and rustic handcrafted coffee and dining tables. A two story wall of windows above the fireplace overlooks Cadillac mountain and the peaceful secluded woods surrounding the house. Double French doors open onto a wrap around deck perfect for entertaining large groups with a gas grill and outdoor seating. Inside, the beautiful brand new kitchen is furnished with every amenity including a dishwasher, microwave, gas stove, double sink with stainless steel fixtures, and an island that is open to the living room making it a perfect place to re-connect with family and friends.
Walk upstairs to the alcove loft that overlooks the living area for a quiet retreat, or continue on to the master bedroom complete with a walk in closet and private balcony. The attached master bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub, double granite sinks, and stainless fixtures. The bed has a queen sized luxury superior comfort pillow top mattress. The remaining four bedrooms are equally as comfortable with the same queen sized mattresses, “log” beds, dressers, and ample closets. On the lower level is a large game room with a brand new 8 foot pool table and a foosball table, additional double French doors and a third full bath.
Finally, one of the best attractions about this home is its location. The house is 3 ½ miles from the enchanting Village of Bar Harbor, Mt. Desert Island’s artistic, culinary, and social center. Located on the shores of Frenchman’s Bay, it offers the charm of a small New England fishing village with all the attractions of a major resort including restaurants, shopping, and a lively nightlife. The house also borders Acadia National Park, and is less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean. Nearby are entrances to some of the best hiking trails in the country, as well as a huge variety of outdoor activities including canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, deep sea fishing, sailing, biking, and much more. Also close by is the popular Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, and Cadillac Mountain, the most beautiful place to watch the sun rise in the country.

Great house, clean and well taken care of. Very centrally located near Bar harbor. Would stay here again next time I'm visiting Acadia
Just came back from a family vacation and stayed at this wonderful log cabin. There were 10 of us, and we could not have been more comfortable (the beds especially were very comfy). The kitchen is well stocked with cooking implements, there is lots of space for family hang-outs but also privacy when needed and the location could not be better. Not right in town -who wants the traffic- but only a few minutes from center of Bar Harbor and to Acadia Park entrance. The owner was very responsive and pleasant to deal with. Highly recommended.
This house is a great Bar Harbour rental! It was a perfect location right outside of town with gorgeous scenery. The house itself is very spacious with plenty of room to entertain or relax on the deck. The owners were very accommodating and helpful with any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again!
We rented this house for the week for a small college reunion of sorts with friends scattered across the country. We found the house was pretty much perfect for our needs, everyone loved it and was very happy. Plenty of space, easy to keep tidy, kitchen and dining room/living room adequate for our needs, great patio and grill, etc. Also the bedrooms and beds were all great. Owner was friendly and helpful in our communications.
This location was also pretty ideal for visiting the island - close enough to Bar Harbor that it was not a pain to go pick up things we needed, go into town for lunch, etc, but far enough away (and off the road) that we did not have any concerns about noise or worry about being bothered. Also very close to the national park and easy access to the beach, hikes, etc.
All in all, no complaints, I think we would all be happy to come back to this house again in a few years for another reunion!! Thanks!
This place was fantastic and exactly what we were looking for for our get away! I struggled finding a place that would fit for 5 couples with no children. So many places I viewed would sleep 10, but two of the rooms were twins, or one room had bunk beds. "Hiding Place" had exactly what we needed: 5 rooms with a queen bed in each room. There are two bedrooms on the main level, two bedrooms on the lower level, and one bedroom upstairs. The kitchen was well equipped with all that we needed. There was plenty of seating for everyone to be together comfortably, but the house was big enough to also split off; specifically with the couch on the lower level where the pool table and Foosball is located. The view from the house was incredible. We were there during the winter and made great use of the wonderful fireplace. Bar Harbor was a wonderful place to visit. Several of the shops were closed since we went during "off season", but for those who enjoy visiting places when it's not so busy, it is perfect! If you are planning a visit, I would definitely recommend you stay here!
Our family met in Bar Harbor for a "whole family vacation" and stayed at this house recently. We had 8 adults and 3 children under two years. The locataion was great - convenient to everything, but far enough away that we had privacy. The out door deck had plenty of space for us to be loud and other houses were not on top of us, so we felt alone. There is also an outdoor grill already hooked up to propane gas, which was a feature many of the houses that we looked at did not have. It had plenty of space and the accomodations were as promised - nothing more or less than what you see in the pictures. We ate in many nights and found the kitchen to be equipped enough to satisfy our needs. The owner also returned the deposit in a timely manner after our vacation was finished. The only pitfall to our gathering was the fact that we had small children new to "exploring"; therefore, bring two child gates for the stairs if you are in the same position. I checked that I would rent this house to families with small children because of the fact that the "great room" plan makes it very convenient to keep an eye on them while they are playing. You do need a car to get around in this location, but that was not a problem at all. I would rent this house again and would definitely reccomend it to anyone looking for a large house in that area in this price range.
