Lake Winnipesaukee Cozy Cottage

This was our first homeaway.com rental, and it was flawless. Debbie and Mike were honest, well-organized and described the property perfectly. The cottage is older, but very clean and maintained. Parking a bit tight if you have large vehicles, and there are 3 flights of stairs down to the lake since the cottage sits on hillside -- so maybe not the best if you have elderly folks vacationing with you. But the view of Alton Bay is picture perfect -- and the cottage is just 25 mins from both Wolfeboro and Weirs Beach. There's also ample docking room if you bring your own boat; we waterskiied just off the dock. Lake Winni is crystal clear, too! Great restaurants nearby - Johnson's in New Durham, Shibley's for ice cream in the Bay, and lots more. Plus Funspot in Weirs Beach is great for the kids on a rainy day...a huge arcade. You can also boat to the sandbar in West Alton, then anchor and swim ... or take a day-long cruise on the Mount Washington if you don't bring your own boat. Another great thing about the cottage is that it gets southwest exposure - watch the sunrise from across the lake and see it set off the dock. Beautiful. We would definitely rent again. Thanks!
