Late summer fling

My family and I just returned from spending a week at this vacation cottage. The unit is well stocked with everything you need, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The cottage is located on a beautiful, quiet lake where you can fish and swim. My husband and grandson spent some time fishing (mostly bluegill), and we floated around the lake on tubes that we brought from home. There is also a pool that the whole family enjoyed. The area is lovely, and we were able to view several water falls without traveling too far. We went to Sliding Rock where the kids enjoyed the slide despite the cold water at the bottom! We also visited the Cradle of Forestry, Ceasar's Head State Park, and Pretty Place church, which has a fabulous view. We tried out two local restaurants (Three Caballeros and Pisgah Fish Camp), both of which were very good. There is also a large gas grill on the deck of the house, so we prepared several meals at home. After our days of sightseeing, we enjoyed the game room downstairs, playing pool and air hockey. My only caution regarding this house is that the third bedroom (bunks) is downstairs in the game room with no inside access, which may be a problem for families with younger children. Otherwise, this house has everything you need to enjoy a wonderful week in the mountains. I would highly recommend this unit if you are looking for a reasonably priced vacation in a location that is close to many wonderful outdoor activities.
