If you're looking for an idyllic spot for a holiday, deep in the south of France, beautifully renovated, surrounded by vineyards, woodlands, lavender fields and ancient villages, you've just found it...

Les Beaux Terroirs a collection of four recently refurbished gites, in the quiet village of St Andre Roquepertuis. This is a great base for exploring the Ardèche Gorges, Ceze valley and Vin yards of the Rhone Alpes. There is an abundance of activities to try out and some great walks to explore. The four properties share a swimming pool and each have BBQ areas and there is private parking available. Gigondas is the larger of the four properties with three bedrooms a lovely large lounge and large well equipped kitchen. Lirac has two bedrooms sleeping up to 6 people, a lovely large well equipped kitchen and a private walled terrace. Cote Rotie & Chateauneuf are slightly smaller gites with one double/twin room and a double sofa bed in the lounge. Each is well-equipped modern kitchen, TV, DVD player, stereo and Wi-Fi.

We're open for the following: summer, spring/autumn, winter, Xmas/New Year; weekly, fortnightly, short break/long weekend; self-catered. Please enquire for details.

Local adventure holidays: We can also provide hosted adventure holidays in the nearby Ardeche region. Such activities include canoeing, mountain biking, walking, caving, wine tasting, trips to local museums...and more!

Cote-Rotie is the downstairs apartment – spacious (65m2), just like Chateauneuf-du-Pape upstairs. It has 1 double bedroom (twin beds that fit together as a double if required), a bathroom (with separate bath and shower) and a large open-plan living/dining/kitchen area with exposed wooden beams and hand-built wooden furniture. There is a sofabed in the living room area, plus a TV, DVD player stereo and wifi access. Cote Rotie sleeps 2-4.

The village of St Andre de Roquepertuis lies in the Ceze Valley in the Gard department. It's like a little outcrop of Provence on the western bank of the Rhone.

The valley is gently undulating and covered in vines, fruit trees, woodlands, lavender fields and ancient villages. The river Ceze runs down the middle, providing pools for swimming in, rapids to kayak through and waterfalls to gasp at.

St Andre lies at the western end of the valley, just before it rises through the Gorges de la Ceze and off towards the Cevennes. It sits on a shallow hill, protected from the worst of the Mistral wind by a ridge to its immediate north and is surrounded by vineyards.

There is a cafe/bar/restaurant in St Andre with a lovely wisteria-shaded terrace. 3km away is the small town of Goudargues, which offers a wide range of restaurants, shops and services (including a bank). 15km away is Bagnols-sur-Ceze, a good-sized town with a decent supermarket.
