Sunny Slope Farm: lovely 200 year-old four-season family farm with big red barn, big white stable and a full woodshed; pond for fishing or skating; winter sledding hill; hiking or cross-country ski trails past brooks & wild beaver pond; 2 decks & a screened-in porch; furnished with many antiques and fine, comfortable furniture; kitchen is fully equipped and large enough for your cozy family breakfast with a big round pine table, a small woodstove, & some of the purest water in NH.
The dining room has a fireplace, grandmother clock, & table long enough to seat all your cousins for Thanksgiving; the library has many books, a desk, a sleep sofa, French doors & a fireplace; 2 living rooms with piano, 5-CD changer, TV with cable & DVD with small DVD & video libraries; upstairs sitting room with desk for laptop & trundle bed; 2 bathrooms, (upstairs shower, downstairs tub and shower); 2 trundles and a twin in the 'game room’, with a game nook, games, puzzles, & a TV w/VCR for the kids.
Lovely, comfortable family retreat: Bed linens are all cotton, with down or hypo-allergenic pillows & comforters, and the king & queen have feather-beds. There is an abundance of cotton towels, from washcloth to bath. Down & hypo-allergenic comforters, as well as old quilts, cotton blankets, &afghans fill the linen closets.
Other Amenities include: Gas stove; china, silverware, crystal, glasses & mugs, dinner service-ware; fully supplied kitchen; 2 fireplaces, kitchen wood-stove; piano; kitchen porch with outside dining; a kitchen/library deck with picnic table, wrought iron patio furniture, gas grill, 5-6 person hot tub & an outdoor fireplace; hiking-ski trails, hay fields, woodlands, brook; adirondack furniture & a hammock in the yard; fishing pond & a small canoe for use on our own little pond, or on the river or lake.
No smoking inside the house. Cigarettes, pipes & cigars are permitted on the screened-in porch or on the kitchen decks. Handicapped accessible only by arrangement & only on the first floor.
A Lovely Place to get Married: Sunny Slope Farm has seen many a family wedding throughout its long life, and the tradition continues.
There have been small Spring weddings held in the library & large Summer & Autumn weddings held in the fields or on the lawn. In 2006 alone there were 2 weddings in the barn, with the doors thrown wide to views of the hayfield & the apple tree. Last June there was a wedding held in the upper field, with a reception in a tent in the hayfield under a full moon, & during the last three Augusts, weddings with tents & string bands set up on the front lawn.
We do not do wedding planning for you, but we are glad to pass along the information about rentals, caterers, etc, that other couples used.
There is a small extra charge (please see Rates Section) for a wedding or reception held at Sunny Slope Farm, but the folks who've gotten married here have found it much more convenient & less expensive to get married in the place they're staying for a few days (either before, after or both!).

Winter is just as much fun as Summer!: There are 5 miles of trails on Sunny Slope perfect for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling or snowshoeing, & 7 pairs of snowshoes of various sizes are waiting in the woodroom for you to try!
The best sledding hill in town is right behind our old red barn, & there are several sleds available if you forget yours! Sleigh rides in the farm's own sleighs are available by prearrangement.
Lake Winnipesaukee, Merrymeeting Lake or River, as well as our own little fishing pond are available for ice skating, ice fishing or even ice sailing, & Alton Bay's annual Winter Festival invents even more ways to enjoy the ice.
Gunstock Ski Area is a 20 minute drive, & Mount Washington, the White Mountains (for climbing, camping, skiing or leaf-peeping) & the Rt. 93 ski resorts are approximately an hour and a half's drive away.
And when you return from your day playing in the snow & on the ice, the fireplaces & hot tub of Sunny Slope will be waiting to warm your bones and welcome you home!
