A Medieval watch-tower complex and national monument, Torre di Sopra makes an ideal base from which to sightsee in Florence and the rest of Tuscany. The main tower property includes 3 double and two twin bedrooms, 4 en-suite bathrooms, sitting room with open fireplace, dining room, kitchen and external sitting and dining areas under the loggia and pergola. The garden has views over surrounding olive groves and Florence in the distance. An additional double bedroom with en-suite bathroom is available on request. The cottage, La Casina, sleeps 4 and has a separate entrance and outside dining areas. The properties are available separately or together. Maximum occupancy is 15.

Our childhood home.
An exceptional historic building and national monument of deep personal attachment, ideal for sightseeing and relaxing in Tuscany and conveniently situated for direct and fast access to motorway links.
Our 1 week stay at Torre di Sopra was the highlight of our 2 weeks in Italy. The house is just as in the pictures and is stunning. Danilo had prepared us a beautiful meal upon our late afternoon arrival. The property suited us well - the kids room was great, and kept the kids busy and amused whilst we relaxed. The property was very clean and well maintained. A great place to get together with family - having the option of also renting the additional property attached. Some days we abandoned our plans to explore the region, and just stayed at Torre di Sopra, with the kids playing in the yard and olive groves. The architecture and beautiful artworks throughout the house was a delight. Highly recommended.
We stayed here with another couple for several days and could not believe our luck that we had found this place. The architecture of the house was such a delight, and it has multiple outdoor areas for lounging out in the Tuscan sun. We found the tower to be clean, with a well stocked kitchen and a very helpful housekeeper. The location in relation to Florence was convenient, as long as you have a car and can navigate narrow and windy roads. The owner was great at contacting us to arrange arrival times and providing timely responses to any questions. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Our family of five, including three twenty-something grown "children", stayed here for a week, and it was delightful. A great combination of ancient and contemporary architecture, designed by the late owner who was architect for Florence's Museo Marino Marini. It's short on privacy, but long on visual excitement. Some of the acrobatic stairs can be intimidating at first approach. The hosts were very helpful, although not in town when we were there, but there's a resident property manager, who was also more than helpful.
The house includes a huge living room, dining room, courtyard living area, terrace overlooking Firenze (~15 km distant), a service courtyard off the ample and well designed kitchen. There were nine legitimate beds; the study could have been outfitted with a sofa bed because there were four full bathrooms - two with combination tub-showers, two with tubs.
It's well situated near a quaint and serviceable village, Antella, which has a grocery co-op + 2 bakeries, wine store, butcher shop, pizzeria only 2 km away. I cannot say enough good about this place.
The drive to Florence was confusing to me, and the limited parking in historic Florence is a problem. We didn't take the time to ride the buses. To explore historic Florence, I recommend staying in historic Florence, but to explore Chianti and Tuscany, this is a great location, very close to Florence.
Ideally placed for visiting Florence as well as the rest of Tuscany, Siena, Arezzo, Pisa and Lucca, 30 minutes from Greve and San Gimignano.
