3500 sq ft architect-designed main house set 900' above a quiet lake provides cottage feel (stone fireplace, screened porch) with modern amenities (chef's kitchen, radiant heat). Boathouse and dock on the lake provide additional base for activities. Main house has three levels designed to permit multi-family or -generation use. 40' x 24' main floor provides a gathering space for dining, sunsets and conversation. Primary master and two additional bedrooms on third floor sleep 10 in beds plus loft; secondary master bedroom (with full bath) and bunk room (with full bath) on first floor sleep provide another five sleeping berths. Futon in boathouse allows two to rough-it seasonally; best spot on the property to bunk during storms. 11 acre site with half-mile driveway provides privacy and security. The house is the largest property on the Eastern shore of Lake Raponda, a beautiful spring-fed lake where sailing, canoeing and water skiing are permitted, but jet skiis are not (though they can be used at Lake Whitingham, 5 miles away). The property is 3 miles from downtown Wilmington, VT (home to Memorial Hall and some of the best dining in Vermont), 5 miles from Adams Farm (famous for seasonal family events), 7 miles from Mount Snow and 20 miles to Stratton Mountain.

Main House & Boat House: The Boat House is on Lake Raponda; the Main House is not. Instead, it is (intentionally) 900' up a path (more than 10 degree incline in places) from the Boat House. This allows for two different lake and forest experiences, and keeps the Main House hidden from the lake and area roads. (The Main House is in the center of an 11 acre parcel of land, so children and others can roam without coming into contact with cars, etc.).

Our First New England Fall

My three sisters and husbands spent a week in this wonderful house to experience our first New England fall. It was also our first trip to Vermont and boy did we choose the right house. This house is totally perfect for eight adults. The floor plan is conducive to both "together time" and "alone time". We were all so very comfortable and each of us wanted to take the "living floor" home with us. Arranging the details of our stay with Marty was easy and most of all, honest. Although, never really figured out if Marty was male or female, just one of those SNL Pat things, I guess. Our trip was a reunion of sorts, since we all live in different towns in Texas. It was one of the best reunions we have ever had and I do believe a large part of that most memorable time was due to Marty's outstanding and beautiful vacation home.

The perfect family retreat!

My family enjoyed a wonderful week of canoeing, kayaking, swimming and relaxing at this home on Lake Raponda. With kids in tow, the separation between house and lake was perfect! We spent most of our time hanging around on the dock and in the water. The lake was the perfect size- big enough to be clean and refreshing, but small enough that the kids could take off in their kayaks and not get lost. We had several family members visit us during our stay and everyone had a wonderful time! There was a lot of talk about coming out again next summer...
We had a great time!! Thank you!!

First off, our vacation was terrific. We had a couple of days of so-so weather, but had plenty to do inside the house (Poker, Setback, Scrabble, a puzzle, pool, and ping pong) on those days. My brother-in-law brought up his Bass boat and so we tubed and fished (caught a couple that we threw back). The big canoe and the dock received a lot of use. The bikes were used everyday….lots of good hills, and we even met up with friends at the Mt. Snow mountain bike trails. We sat on the hill at Whitehouse for the 4th of July fireworks and had dinner the first night at Alonzo’s (our only dinner out). The grill was thoroughly used a couple of nights as well (thanks for making that investment). Everyone that came either stayed longer than they planned or really wanted to stay longer. We definitely got a lot of use out of the house…..even sleeping 14 people one night (two in the boathouse). There is definitely interest in renting from you again in the future…..especially considering how generous you were in compensating us for the hot water heater system that happened to malfunction during our stay.

Great home on the perfect piece of land. Location was fantastic - only 10 minutes to both Haystack and Mt. Snow. The boat house and deck were the ideal spots to relax. We'll be back next summer.

We have just returned from a wonderful 3-day weekend on Lake Raponda. The house was truly incredible and we had a fantastic time with our 2 young boys.

The accommodations were great, the views beautiful and the tranquility restorative.

Greatly enjoyed BBQing, annual "rubber ducky" race in Wilmington, watching kids run down to lower field and splashing in lake!! Kids esp. loved their room & Sponge-Bob squirters in claw-foot tub.

Really impressed with the design of the house for people-flow & architectural flourishes (sloping, repeating roof on back, etc.). Also think use of old plumbing fixtures, baths, sinks adds "charm" to top-of-the-line new construction.

I hope to return soon!!!
