Overview

Suttons Bay Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

If you are looking for the quintessential 'Up North' experience, you have found it. Perched on top of a gradual hill overlooking Suttons Bay, our cottage sits on 5 wooded acres. While relaxing on our 212' feet of private shoreline you will feel like the Bay is yours alone. You can enjoy panoramic views of Old Mission Peninsula and Stony Point, and take in the natural beauty of Northern Michigan in complete privacy.

At roughly 1,400 square feet our cottage is large enough for as many as 8 people, but cozy enough for one couple. The cabin is very quaint, with original oak floors, knotty pine walls throughout, and a wonderful sunroom. A floor-to-ceiling wood burning fireplace is a great way to top off the evening and enjoy the cottage's atmosphere. Also be witness to a rich variety of wildlife, including a family of swans, loons, ducks, and even the occasional bald eagle.

Enjoy our outdoor amenities, including three sea kayaks; a rowboat; and a professionally installed mooring anchor for your boat. A swimmer friendly dock, large sandy beach, bay-side fire pit, and horseshoe pit, round off the front yard features. And if you want to see the peninisula, you can use our two mountain bikes.

This charming original log cabin restores the nostalgia of your Up North memories. It is truly your home away from home.

Why The Owner chose Suttons Bay

Our family purchased this cottage over 40 years ago for its privacy and quality beachfront.

What makes this cabin unique

This property is truly unique for its amenties, privacy, and size. The cottage is nestled neatly atop a small grassy bluff overlooking an enormous front yard and over 210' of direct Grand Traverse Bay frontage. Enjoy a morning coffee in the sunporch, then walk down to the dock and push off into the Bay for a leisurely kayak ride. Lay out on our very large sand area during the day, where kids have plenty of room to build sand castles and play. Or take a bike ride anywhere in the pennisula with our mountain bikes. You can also relax on a hammock in the cool shade of a wonderful cedar grove. At night, build a big bonfire in the firepit.

Fantastic Anniversary Getaway at Dreamcatcher

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful four days we had at this cottage for our Anniversary getaway! This property was everything we had hoped for and more. Everything is as advertised. If anything, the pictures don't do it justice. The cottage is spacious, yet cozy at the same time and has all of the modern amenities anyone would need for a perfect vacation. The view of the bay is nothing short of spectacular. While only a few minutes drive to activities and shopping in Sutton's Bay, Omena and Northport, the wooded property that this cottage sits on is very secluded with an expansive yard and wide private beachfront. Very peaceful! We've vacationed at a number of other homes on the Leelanau Peninsula over the years - from Cathead Bay to Sutton's Bay and places in between. In our opinion, you will not find a better 'Up North' vacation experience than you will find at Dreamcatcher. We will definitely be back!

SUCH A GEM!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Dream Catcher for our fall foliage vacation and we felt so lucky to have found this gem!! As you drive down through the wooded drive you end up at this gorgeous lot on the lake with amazing views and a serene setting. The cabin is lovely and so well kept, the photos really don't do it justice. We brought our new dog with us and she was in her glory. This place is so well equipped...you don't need to bring anything other than your clothing and toiletries - the owners have thought of everything and provide everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect too! We were able to visit all of our favorite wineries in the Traverse City area and Old Mission Peninsula as well as Suttons Bay of course. Our favorite part was coming "home" each evening, building a fire and enjoying the cabin and lake view. We hope to come to back!!

Our summer vacation

  • 5 of 5

What a great find! Close to many attractions. Stayed at this property with my family, parents, and in laws. I love that it is quiet and private. The weather was nice during our stay but not warm enough to swim. Still, kids loved the sand area, hunting for petoskey rocks, getting their feet wet, throwing rocks into the water. Loved the firepit! Stars were amazing on clear nights around the fire pit! Leelanau county is a beautiful area!!! Hope to be back!

A+ Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the rustic charm of the cottage, with all it's modern amenities. The lakefront spot was beautiful and spacious. It was very enjoyable paddling on the bay in the kayaks, lounging in the hammock, and reading books in the sunroom. The cottage is in a great location- close to Traverse City, wineries, Leland and Sleeping Bear Dunes. We can't wait to return!

Perfect Winter Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The place is just great, the pictures don't do it justice. We wanted a quiet place to get away over the Christmas holiday and this was the perfect ticket. The fireplace is the focal point of the main room and was great to relax by in the evening. There's a nice, new flat screen tv in the living room. The beds were very comfortable with warm comforter to keep you warm, all the kitchen appliances were newer and they had any pots, pans, and plates you could need. Great location right on the water. Will for sure stay here again.

Beautiful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

This was a lovely vacation home even better than imagined from the listing. This cabin was extremely clean and well kept and supplied with many extras such as portable fans, bikes, kayaks, canoe etc. We had a lovely day in Suttons Bay shopping and visiting vineyards. Restaurants (Martha's Table, North Country Grill and Village Inn) had great food. We would certainly recommend it to our friends and plan to stay again next year.

Map

Located in the heart of Michigan's wine country! Leelanau County is home to dozens of wineries - all within minutes of the cottage. Great trails for hiking in the summer, or cross-country skiing/snowshoeing in the winter. It's the perfect location that provides a lot of privacy, but also accessibility to great shopping and eateries in the Village of Suttons Bay.
