Adorable, renovated 2-level cottage with views of (and direct access to) Lakeville Lake (Wonoscopomac). The 1+ acre property abuts the Salisbury / Lakeville 'Town Grove,' which offers boating, lifeguard-protected swimming, playgrounds, etc. A 3 minute walk down our private path takes you right to the Grove. Comfortable and charming, the house has 2 wood-burning fireplaces. The living room opens onto a dining room, and French doors take you to the screened porch, where you can sit on rocking chairs and watch the sunset. Each of the 2 large bedrooms has a Q-sized bed, and there is a Q-sized sofa bed in the living room. Downstairs offers a huge den with a full-sized futon, bathroom (with shower) and a separate office area, with a view of the lake and a microwave and fridge. Wireless broadband Internet access serves the entire house. HDTV with DVR in LR, HDTV also in den.

Notes: Free U.S. phone calls. Wireless cable broadband (bring your own computer.) Cell phone service is now working, but extent of coverage may depend on your vendor. New HDTV/DVR in LR and HDTV in den Pets very welcome (except puppies). We have an enclosed dog area for 'business,' a nifty runner gizmo so your dog can be outside with you in backyard, and a large crate is available. Main floor is suitable for those with non-severe mobility limitations - however, access to downstairs and backyard would be challenging.Grab bars in the main bathroom tub/shower. There are 2 steps at front door into main floor. (Not recommended in winter for mobility challenged bec of ice). While the house is perfect for families with 'tween-agers' and teens, it is absolutely not appropriate for young children under age 8 due to its location on Rt. 44 (drivers ignore speed restrictions). There is parking only for two cars. No smoking on property (Sorry, but I'm allergic)

We have both oil heat and propane, so there's plenty of hot water and a gas stove (and washer/ gas dryer). Media equipment includes a 5 TVs, including a new HDTV and DVR in LR; DVD player, VHS video player, two CD players. There's digital Comcast cable, with the premium package that includes high definition HBO, and YES, NESN, and SNY for Yankees/Mets/Red Sox fans. (HD only in LR). The Lakeville / Salisbury / Sharon / Canaan / Millerton area is just two hours from NYC, with easy train access (Metro North - Wassaic). Airport access is Bradley CT (about an hour), NYC (about 2 hrs) or Boston (about 2-1/2 hours). Please note: our property abuts the Salisbury Town Grove, on Lakeville Lake - but it is not lakefront property. The access to the lake is through the Town Grove. Dogs are not permitted in the Grove area. If any questions, please email owner.

Other Activities: Music, theater, restaurants, shopping, hiking, etc.! Paddle tennis court adjoins property
