Enchanting 2 BR/2 Bath Luxury Beach House just steps to Gulf beach

Our entire experience on the island was great! The house is amazing and the property manager, Carolyn, was right there if we needed anything (which we didnt). We will return for sure!

Our spring visit to Tequila Sunset was stellar. We went with our two teens. Getting to the island via water taxi was effortless, the crew charming. We were greeted by the charming Carolyn who took us to our house. It was absolutely lovely. Spotless. The kitchen (I love to cook) was well appointed. Every room had its own charm. The kids loved the wifi and TV. We loved the rooftop deck. We watched the sunrise from there every morning, coffee in hand. Then in the evening we went up to enjoy the sunset, cocktail in hand. High above the treetops, we watched the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico. The pristine beach is a two minute walk from the house. The water is a iridescent aqua. We saw porpoises, tortoises, skates, horseshoe crabs, manatee, osprey, pelicans. We experienced spectacular shelling, leaving with a wondrous collection of sand dollars. The pool at the Safe Harbour Club was perfect. Quiet, and pretty. The BBQ at the house was great too. The screened in porch was perfect for dining. Carolyn was close by to answer any questions. Everyone was incredibly friendly. It was one of the best vacations we've ever had. And the owner was wonderful as well, answering any questions with patience and a smile. It was a magical. We will be back.

We had a good experience staying at Tequila Sunset from March 6-13, 2010. North Captiva is a beautiful, quiet island with beaches full of shells and opportunities to see all kinds of birds, dolphins and other wildlife. We liked that the house was close to the beach, and we had a nice observation deck from which we could see the gulf sunsets in the west and the sunrises over the harbor on the east. The house was well appointed for my husband, daughter and me. We appreciated the fact that the kitchen is well stocked, and included basic spices, flour, and other cooking staples. There are plenty of towels, including beach towels. There are some board games for quiet evenings at home, and internet access for when we wanted to keep in touch with the outside world. Property manager Carolyn lives just down the street so she was available by home or mobile phone to assist us with anything we needed. I think the renter's binder with the information about the island's amenities and check-out procedures, etc. probably needs to be updated each season. It wasn't clear what time checkout was, for example. The binder said 10 a.m. but it's now actually 9 a.m. But that small detail aside, we had a good experience. When we booked our week, owner Donna Ellswick was very responsive to my questions about the house and North Captiva. It's evident that she has great affection for the place and wants to share that feeling with visitors who stay at her home.
