DECK HOUSE WATERFRONT STUDIO COTTAGE

Where do I start? If you enjoy georgeous views of a quintessential Maine harbor filled with colorful lobster boats, beautiful sunsets and quaint comfort you will love this place. This cottage though on the cozy side has the feeling of being in a tree house over the water. A pine tree actually grows thru the deck. The place is spotlessly clean and has big windows on two sides for a very open feel. The deck is spacious and private with comfortable chairs and small dining table. The bathroom has just been redone and has a sky light that makes showering fun. The kitchen is compact but has a full size refrigerator and stove with oven. The linens are of high quality (more like an inn than a vacation rental). The unit has original art, wifi and a flat screen TV. You won't watch a lot of TV as you will be spending most of your time on the deck watching the lobster and sail boats passing by. Having coctails at sunset on the deck became our nightly tradition, followed by a stroll to the center of town for a great dinner, ice cream or a lobster next door. Southwest Harbor is THE place to stay while visiting Acadia having everything you could want including access to the park right at your fingertips. The owners also have an inn across the street and even invited us for breakfast one morning which was a nice touch. They are warm and most helpful in planning activities during your stay. The cottage is small but is one of the most unique and memorable places we have ever stayed and we travel a lot.
