Photos and Description of the Bridgton vacation house rental - 4 bedroom, 1 full bath, sleeps 8

Family compound on private peninsula on Moose Pond. Compound contains The Cottage, The Lodge and The Cabin. However, The Lodge is the only unit available for rent. The Cottage is used by the owner (usually only weekends) and The Cabin is an accessory building, that gets it's name from the business that once occupied it. The property is one of the most photographed properties in Maine. It has been featured in numerous pictures and 4 jigsaw puzzles (by 4 different companies). Valhalla dates to the late 1800's. The Cottage & Lodge are about 30 feet apart but face in different directions. Their design was well thought out, making them each very private. From the living areas in both buildings you cannot see the other. The Lodge has an open living room / eating area / kitchen on the first floor.

Location: Western Maine < Maine < USA

Sit back and relax or take advantage of the area's numerous offerings. Moose Pond, (really a lake at 7 miles long and 1694 acres) offers great fishing. Good area for water skiing, sailing, canoeing, and kayaking. Public boat ramp (free) is only half a mile away. Hike Pleasant Mountain. There are 3 golf courses nearby. Numerous great restaurants in the area. Spend an afternoon on the paddle wheeler 'Songo River Queen' on nearby Long Lake. Outlet shopping in tax-free North Conway, NH is only 30 minutes away.

Valhalla is without a doubt a wonderful place to rent right on Moose Pond. The location is perfect as well as the lodgings. Herb and Sue are kind people who are great hosts. We will definitely rent Valhalla again and again!

The lodge was clean, well appointed, and homey. The beach and swim float were great for the kids. I learned how to sail with the Sunfish. The water was very warm and the fishing was good. I'd recommend this to any family with children who want a relaxing atmosphere at a reaonable price to boot.
