Earls Court Cottage Rental Photos and Description
3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, warm and welcoming house in Southwest London
If you’re coming to London with the little ones, then a stuffy hotel room just won’t cut it. You need toys and books and a TV. You’ll want a sizeable kitchen, ideally filled with all the latest gadgets and preferably some sunshine too. You’ll demand a garden. And you’ll yearn for a cosy sitting room in which to recover when at last your babes are a-bed. Well, here’s a home that’s all this, and much, much more, for you’ll find artwork and antiques alongside cheerful textiles and comfy cushions. Visit Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens or spend a day at the Natural History Museum. And don’t even try keeping teens and Top Shop apart…
The mamas and the papas
Your hostess is a Londoner born and bred, while your host is from Devon. Together they’ve meshed town and country in their home, and they and their three young children love exploring the city, spending their Saturday mornings in search of the capital’s best café.
Lots of love
Kenway Road 2 was originally a cottage, and Earls Court a tiny village. But as London expanded, this home grew along with it. Now fully extended, there’s a large and lovely kitchen opening out onto the patio garden, and the two hundred year old bricks encase underfloor heating, gleamingly new bathrooms and shelves upon shelves of books. Warm and welcoming, the sitting room’s velvet sofa is the ideal spot for a snuggle – you’ll find that after dinner glass of burgundy tastes so much better in front of the fire.
The airy master has its own en suite and a free standing tub within the bedroom itself, so your conversation needn’t be curtailed by closed doors. There are two further bedrooms, one a standard and one a bunk-bedded double. And anyone sad to miss out on the top bunk can be consoled with a ride on that gorgeous stuffed pony.
To the playground
Kensington is a top destination for visiting families, and it’s just around the corner. Sweet cafes and restaurants nestle beside nearby Gloucester Road, and you’d need several lifetimes to see all that’s on display in Exhibition Road’s museums. Romp around Hyde Park, take a boat out on the Serpentine, or head for the bright lights of the West End - the tube from Earls Court to Piccadilly Circus takes twelve minutes.
