South Kensington Apartment Rental Photos and Description
2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, original antique furnished apartment in Southwest London
Be of good cheer
Fluffy ducklings, lemon sorbet, nodding daffodils- all glow in the gladdest of hues. And they’re joined by Redcliffe Square, a home of buttery-bright walls and cheerfully classical décor. Tall windows, elegant furniture and printed fabrics combine to create an atmosphere that’s both traditional and surprisingly informal. Breakfast on the balcony, picnic in the communal gardens, and then visit Kensington’s museums for an afternoon of cultured pleasure. This really is the very best of British – boating on the serpentine, shopping in Harrods, tea and cake in the café of the V&A… what could be jollier?
Lift me up
Your spirited hostess loves to sail and to ski. She has homes in Oxfordshire, Denmark and the Caribbean, and she’s keen to experience everything that life has to offer.
If you’re happy and you know it
The sitting room looks out onto the square below. Full-height windows fill the room with light, and there’s a cosiness to the flowery curtains and plush, creamy carpet. Look up to see original Edwardian cornicing and some beautiful oil paintings, or down for the modern stereo and flatscreen tv. The adjoining kitchen is simple and well equipped, and four can be seated around the dining table.
There’s a quiet single bedroom and a family bathroom in soft blue and white. The master is a rather more sumptuous affair, with rich walls and antique furniture. From the intricately gilded mirror to the glinting chandelier, no detail has been left to chance, and best of all, the doors open out onto a pretty private balcony. Sip your espresso and watch the starlings dart and dive in the park below – there can be no nicer start to your day.
You’re between Kensington and Chelsea, and so you’ve a choice between King’s Road and Kensington High Street, two of London’s best shopping routes. There are top restaurants and bars all around, while the museums, Hyde Park and Knightsbridge are all within walking distance of your front door. And if you fancy a trip into the West End, the tube from Earls Court to Covent Garden takes less than fifteen minutes.
