The speed of life
If it’s such a small world, how is it we don’t see homes like this every day? Brilliantly perched in London’s heady heart, Westbourne Terrace 2 is the bachelor pad to please any jet-setter. Faraway treasures wink and glisten, while candles and yoga books cut out the world’s white noise. And once you’ve found spiritual renewal, be it on the snug leather couch or in contemplation of the handsomely high ceilings, you’ll want to go on a journey of your own. Whether it’s to Notting Hill, Oxford Street or the blissful expanse of Hyde Park we’ll leave entirely up to you...
Your host runs a global sports marketing outfit, duly attending big sporting events across the world. Having lived in the United States and Asia in the past, he’s now calling London home. Besides travelling, he loves to ski, motorcycle and pilot small aircraft.
Your home beckons on the second floor of a distractingly impressive mansion block, so mount the stairs and make your way inside. Eastern objects d’art instantly draw the eye, and you, into the elegant dining room, where a Chinese statue gazes benignly over a table for four and modern artwork. In the sitting room, sink your toes into the snuggly rug, and the rest of you into its cosy leather sofa. All high ceilings and rich wooden floorboards, a statement lamp shines overhead, and you’ve a widescreen TV and hefty speakers at your service too.
The modern kitchen is shiny in the deepest black and brightest white, while the bedroom is well-lit and fresh. The linen is crisp, the artwork bold, and the rugs are cosy underfoot. You’ve also a lovingly tiled bathroom, a-brim with our White Company toiletries and fluffy towels.
Leaving on a jet plane
Here, you can sample London at its loudest, quietest, and everything in between. Little Venice is one of the city’s sweetest corners, a tangle of canals, cafes and cute parks, while Notting Hill turns things up a notch. Eat out, check out an independent cinema or take a scented stroll through Hyde Park. And, for the city at its liveliest, do look in on Oxford Street. You can walk it in twenty minutes, or jump on a tube and be there in ten.
