Pimlico Apartment Rental Photos and Description
1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, artistic apartment in a handy Southwest London location
The Old Masters, how well they understood. So too does this home. Draped with the most admirable of objets d’art, its period splendour could catch the eye of a Florentine court painter. The beauty even begins on the outside, where the grandest townhouses are shaded the whitest stucco. Indoors, you’ll wonder if you’ve stepped into the frame of a treasured masterpiece. Grandly appointed, the sitting room is a gallery of books, oils and gracious furniture, while flowers burst sweetly from the balcony. With Pimlico one way and Chelsea the other, we think the Renaissance could be getting re-started…
Your hosts are art dealers, primarily of the Old Masters. A charming and charismatic pair, they’ve called this apartment home for fifteen years.
Many are the lingering looks you’ll direct at this grand London street. Inside, the sitting room could scarcely be more splendid, its period furniture, high corniced ceilings and weighty red drapes recalling the most majestic of drawing rooms. Run your gaze across its gilt-framed paintings before choosing a volume from the bookshelves and settling in before a crackling fire. The rugs are rich, the wallpaper dark and the dining table lets four partake of whatever’s on the menu. Certainly, the airy Parisian kitchen should ensure it’s suitably delicious.
Nestle into its skylit window seat, or take your wineglass out to the handsome balcony to watch society pass back and forth below. The master bedroom is hung with more of that marvellous artwork, and you’ll also be taken by its vintage furniture, striped wallpaper and invitingly crisp linen. White and fluffy with our towels, the bathroom is bright and immaculately modern.
The classic manner
Pimlico is both cosily quiet yet moments from the action. Step to Sloane Square for a night at the Royal Court Theatre, or busy yourself in the bars and boutiques along the Kings Road. Victoria offers restaurants aplenty, while Knightsbridge has some of the snazziest shops around. If it’s the West End you want, you’ll be there in a trice. The tube from Victoria to Oxford Circus takes just four minutes.
