Boutique feeling in the midst of rolling desert

With a group of five great gal pals, I went to Santa Fe and stayed at Zuni. Upon arrival, I knew we had chosen the perfect place to stay. I enjoy boutique lodges, with plush accommodations and positioned in areas where I can set out on foot, yet be away from the crowd. Zuni fit the bill perfectly--all with a flavor unique to the southwest. Outdoors, the desert hills surrounded us as we sat on the patio embraced in tranquility, took short hikes to view sunrise/sunsets, took long nature walks, or strolled to a nearby spa/restaurant. Indoors, we couldn't have been more comfortable, from luxury bedding in both bedrooms, to a well-equipped kitchen where we cooked our meals (with Trader Joe's provisions, of course), to a cozy living/family room that invited us to sit and chat all night.
I would definitely stay at Zuni again--with my family, my husband, friends--you name it.
