We arrived at the townhome on the day after Christmas. After a bit of trouble getting in via the lockbox (none of us are real estate agents so this posed a daunting challenge for some reason), we made our way in. It's a three-level townhome with washer/dryer, mudroom and a bedroom/bath on the bottom floor, a living room that's a bit on the smaller side with a well-equipped kitchen, nice dining area and half bath on the main floor, and two more bedrooms upstairs. Two great fireplaces, one in the master bedroom and one on the main level. Great oven and other kitchen stuff. The fixtures and finishes were top notch. There is even a wireless internet code provided, so you also have free internet, yay!
Although it is a private home, the owners keep a supply of hotel toiletries in each bathroom, and we all appreciated that lovely and thoughtful touch. Because they ask you to start a load of linens as you leave, they also left a supply of laundry detergent. This was unexpected but also appreciated. There were enough pillows and blankets for the seven of us, and although the main living area was probably a bit small to accommodate all of us, we found other spots to congregate in, and that worked out well. Lots of TVs (I think 3?), and the master bedroom is lovely and comfortable. I especially liked the comforter, which is something I very rarely say in real life, as I probably search for a year before finding one that suits me when it's time for a new one.
The layout of the home makes a lot of sense: After the first trek up and down the stairs, we made a rule to leave boots and jackets downstairs where they belonged. This helped us keep track of all the gear for 7 people, as well. The main floor with its half bath felt homey and comfortable. Although I mentioned that it was probably a tad bit small to accommodate all 7 of us at once, we did sort of branch out and use the dining area with its multiple chairs--it's all part of sort of one big room. It's generally the case, too, that you need a place to go off in small groups during vacations, and the bedrooms were spacious and pleasant enough for that to be a great option. We also really appreciated the extra-large plastic drinking glasses--thanks a lot!
The location was great for all the stuff we wanted to do. We skied, snowmobiled, had a spa day at the Springs, and spent time at RMNP. The home is well located to be able to hit all of those spots very easily. Thanks again!
