Porto Azzurro is one of the most beautiful villages of the island. Old fishing village was then opened up to tourism, but still retains the characteristics of its origins. On the one hand then the beautiful square overlooking the sea, the night life with stalls, bars and restaurants and other fishermen who still returning from fishing in the early morning with the characteristics of wooden boats and selling fish to tourists.
There are two beaches in the country, the Red and the Pianotta. The third, Barbarossa, walk a short walk away, is frequently visited by campers and lovers of diving.
From the village can be reached in less than half an hour all the most famous beaches of Elba, both to Rio Marina and Cavo, but especially to Lacona and Marina di Campo. Do not miss the chance to visit them all ... every day a different one. Do not miss the long beach of Lacona, the wildest Acquarilli and, with a few more minutes' drive, Marina di Campo and then Cabbages and Fetovaia.
A few minutes separate you also some lesser-known gems below the promontory of Capoliveri.
