Romantic 'Sconset Center Cottage for 2 with AIR-CONDITIONING!

This was a wonderful, relaxing getaway location. It's picturesque and quiet in this part of the island, at least in mid-September when we were there. No views of the ocean, but you are in easy walking distance to the beach. This cottage is very well-kept, nicely decorated, renovated, comfortable and cozy. It's small, but it provides everything you need for a home-away-from-home, including a little washer and dryer. The kitchen is narrow but new, clean, and fairly well-equipped for cooking "at home," which is very helpful considering the high prices of Nantucket eateries. If you don't have a car, plan accordingly--it's at least 10 miles back to the main town for restaurants, grocery stores, and shops, and there are very few places to eat in walking distance, especially when the summer season ends. The owner was pleasant and professional to work with, and he makes sure the property is well taken care of, including by those who rent it. The biggest "minus" was that the bed pillows were rather lumpy and thin, so consider bringing your own if this is important to you. Otherwise, we would definitely recommend this cottage for a couple who wants a quiet vacation escape.
