Find yourself a stone throw away from the fashionable and prosperous Primrose Hill that rises an impressive 256 feet above sea level. That may not sound too high, but it is a unique feature for central London and offers an unparalleled view of the surrounding cityscape. A host of A-list poets, musicians and actors have deemed this picturesque neighbourhood eligible to call home including Daniel Craig, Alan Rickman and Tim Burton. Similar to its Southerly neighbour Primrose Hill was once the hunting ground of Henry VIII, while today you may not glimpse Royalty on Horseback; it has retained its refined and regal nature. On the other side you have the vibrant and eclectic Camden Town with its alternative fashion, hip music and buzzing markets it truly stands in stark contrast to its peaceful neighbour. Whether it is the calming affluence of Primrose Hill or the exciting pace of Camden, our Primrose Hill would be the perfect base for an enchanting stay in the Capital.
Living and Eating
As bright and stylish as the streets outside, find our exquisite Primrose Hill home. Yellow walls will brighten the rainiest of London days, as you choose from one of the many seating options by the ornamental fireplace. There’s sofas and arm chairs to flop on after a full day exploring the City and a round wooden table and seats for four people to enjoy a home cooked meal, or perhaps to plan the day’s exploits ahead. There’s of course a kitchen fully equipped with everything you would expect.
Beds and Baths
There’s an open plan bedroom with a double bed, plenty of storage space and lined with sophisticated wallpaper. An impressive chandelier and two bedside lamps provide the room with ample lighting and a rug adds to the cosy ambience.
The bedroom is separated from the Kitchen and living area by two doors either side.
There is a bathroom tiled fabulously with calming shades and equipped with a walk in shower unit, toilet and basin.
Access and Suitability
This home is particularly suitable for couples looking for a romantic break in a fantastic area of London. Access is via one flight of stairs as this apartment is located on the first floor. There are also a small set of steps leading up to the front door of the building.
With such a host of activities on your doorstep it is hard to know which way to head first. Perhaps you will head to Primrose Hill to enjoy the stunning views of Belsize Park and Hampstead. Wandering through this uniquely green space it won’t be hard to see why the area has attracted so many artists and musicians since it became open to the pubic in 1841. There is of course the London Zoo to explore and Regents Park, which can occupy wandering feet for days at a time.
To your other side lies Camden, a buzzing and eclectic neighbourhood filled with vibrant markets, artistic cafes and edgy eateries. Head to Camden Lock and try Dingwalls, aka Bar Risa, to sample one of the best-loved pubs in the area, especially in the summer when its large canal-side roof terrace is filled with picnic tables. For slightly more fine dining the Michael Nagra restaurant is just off the Canal and has a delicious European menu.
Further on a feast of waterside walkways await your discovery. There is Regent’s Canal, which can be followed by the intrepid walker all the way to Little Venice and the Paddington Basin. There is also the option of renting a bike and cycling the pathways, or of course you can take a boat. Why not venture along to the London Canal Museum where you can learn all about their history and take a peak inside a narrow boat cabin.
Venturing on you find the West End, instantly recognisable, to both hardened Londoners and tourists alike, as the physical and cultural heart of the city. From the world-class productions shown nightly at its myriad theatres, to the enduring appeal of Covent Garden, host to the trilling sopranos of the Royal Opera House. Be seduced by Soho's heady 24-hour atmosphere, with aromatic Chinatown and thronging light-filled squares and circuses. It can be easy to forget that the area is within minutes of the National Gallery and British Museum as well as Westminster, London’s seat of parliament, and home to Big Ben and the Abbey. Stepping away from the crowds one reaches first Mayfair, epitomising haughty hedge-funded luxury and, further north, calming Marylebone Village, whose provincial feel makes it a popular base from which to approach the hustle of the borough.
