'La Casa di Beatrice' is an affordable and comfortable apartment located in the center of Siracusa – only a few meters from the historic city center of Ortigia and a few minutes walk from the bus and train station.
The spacious apartment is 85 square meters and is located on the second floor in a recently renovated building. It is ideal for families up to 4 people, couples, friends, singles. On request I can add another 2 places. For children, we have available a cot, high chair, stroller, etc.
The kitchen is simple but complete, with everything you need for a comfortable holiday. You will find a full stove, a microwave oven, a fridge with a small freezer, dishes, tablecloths, etc. In the bathroom there are towels, hair dryer and shower shampoo. Both the kitchen/living room and bedroom are fully airconditioned, there is a practical bathroom with shower, bidet and washbasin. There is also a small laundry room with a boiler and a washing machine.
All beds are equipped with sheets, blankets and comforters for the winter.
The location is central, on the main street of Corso Umberto I, just a few steps from the island of Ortigia. On Oritiga, you will the historic old town and the bustling market with the characteristic sights and smells of Sicily. It is also in walking distance from the Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Archaeological Museum Paolo Orsi, the Catacomb of St. John and the Shrine of Our Lady of Tears. In short, everything is easily accessible.
Nearby, you will find the beaches of Arenella, Fontane Bianche, Arenella and the beautiful protected marine area of Plemmirio, where it is possible to go snorkelling in crystal clear fresh water. The beach resorts are easily reachable by bus.
How to reach the apartment:
If you arrive by plane (airport of destination: Fontanarossa Catania), we can arrange for a direct pick-up for a surcharge of 50 € per car (up to 4 people). Otherwise you can use a bus from Catania to Siracusa railway station (last stop), and then walk (10-15 minutes) or take a taxi from the train station to the apartment. We recommend the bus company INTERBUS, but you can also take a look at the website AST for other hours.
If you arrive by train, take a walk (15 minutes) or a taxi from the train station. You can also jump on the shuttle bus operatied by AST to Ortigia and ask for the stop in the middle of Corso Umberto.
If you arrive by car, you can park for a fee in the street below the apartment (Corso Umberto I), or chose one if the side streets for free parking.
Be aware that the island of Ortigia is a ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone), so it is easiest to arrive there on foot, given the short distance.
The neighbourhood is very safe, and it is full of bars, restaurants and pizzerias.
