This is the heart of the Highlands and is the playground of Scotland, with so many outdoor activities to choose from, you will wish you were on holiday for a fortnight, not just a week.

Situated up a glen road in the peaceful friendly village of Newtonmore, is this Highland holiday house, which was built in 1910, in the manner of a traditional Edwardian villa. Surrounded by silver birch and pine trees and with a southerly aspect, it enjoys the sun at the front of the house throughout the year.

This is ideal for an extended family or two families on holiday with children. There is plenty of living space, with a delightful sitting room with open fire, a large dining room with seating area and a designated children’s room with games and table football table. The kitchen is off the dining room and is the perfect set-up to entertain guests or family throughout the holiday. Whilst all the bedrooms are upstairs, if required a fold-out bed could be set up in the children’s room. There is one shower room on the ground floor and the other bathroom with shower is upstairs. The accommodation format includes two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom, one child’s bedroom with single bed and one bunk room with two double bunk beds, which can sleep up to 4 people. The grounds consist of a parking area to the side and sloped grounds to the front and back of the house. By walking from the house, there is good access to the glen above, which is ideal for good walks. This is a house which should be perfect for family holidays, activity based groups or golfers.

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA

This is ???Monarch of the Glen” country, famous for its fine scenery and shinty. For those wishing to watch shinty, then games can be seen in the village at the Eilan. For golfers there is the excellent golf course in Newtonmore, and at Kingussie or Boat of Garten. The funicular railway is a superb way to enjoy the Cairngorms and in winter, there is fine skiing available. For activities, there are many outdoor centres or activity companies, from clay-pigeon shooting to rafting. The Laggan Wolftrax centre is perfect for mountain biking. The river Spey is nearby and permits are available locally for salmon and trout fishing. Dalwhinnie Distillery, is a must for all whisky enthusiasts. Aviemore has further excellent outdoor activity centres for water and hill based sports for all the family. For shopping, there is the internationally renowned House of Bruar.
