Barrington Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath,
A wonderful find on sparkling Keuka Lake! Located on the desirable Eastern shore across from the Bluff, you will enjoy a large natural wade-in beach front and panoramic views of the lake from windows stretching the length of the cottage. Let the sound of the lake lull you into relaxation mode!
****See our website for many more photos and helpful links. The link to it is below, just below owner info.****
A large porch running the length of the cottage has an eagle view of the lake and the beach directly in front. It is perfect for reading, playing board games, watching the kids play on the shore, or just gazing at the lake. A queen bed nestled at one end of the porch lets you drift off to the sound of the waves, and wake to a glorious view of the lake. Inside find a cozy living room, a bedroom with queen bed, kitchen and bath (both recently updated). In the boathouse below you'll find an extra full-size refrigerator (perfect for your beach picnic needs), a washer and dryer, and a wide assortment of items for your convenience, from life jackets to water shoes.
All beds have mattress pads, pillows, launderable pillow covers, blankets, and comforters. Guests bring their own linens unless otherwise arranged.
Kitchen is fully equipped. For your outside enjoyment find a dock, picnic table, beach bonfire pit, and an anchored float.
Lazy, sunny summer days abound, but spring and fall on Keuka Lake are beautiful too. Curl up by the gas fireplace with a book, or visit nearby wineries, festivals, and attractions. Each season offers its own charm.
Activities and Attractions:
Fish from the dock, or bring your boat ... swim, boat, kayak, canoe, or just sunbathe on your floatable on the lake, on the dock, or on our large anchored float... Boats are acceptable and there is a launch very nearby. Dozens of wineries dot both sides of the lake, and don't miss gorgeous Watkins Glen State Park, just 20 minutes away.
Or visit the incredible Corning Glass museum; the Windmill (a large farm and craft market featuring Mennonite goods and crafts, 10 minutes away); the Glenn Curtiss museum in Hammondsport; and glider rides and the Soaring Museum at Harris Hill. Our website has a much more extensive list and links to the area.

This cottage was in our family for several generations before it was sold. The new owners carefully updated and improved that which needed it, while still retaining the laid-back cottage flavor. We were joyous when the opportunity came up to repurchase it, and wish to share the cottage, that great beach and view, and the whole Keuka experience with others.
Lisa purchased this cottage in 2013
Guestbook comments from the owner
Sunlight is our alarm clock (and if only that could be the case all year long rather than just this week), and it streams gently through the wall of windows that look out over the lake to the ‘Bluff’ beyond. I pad through the kitchen grabbing a cup of coffee from the Keurig (nice touch!) and make my way to the dock for my morning dip (I would have slept in a bathing suit if it were at all comfortable). The lake is crystal clear and refreshing and by the time I swim to the neighbor’s float and back I am alive and well and ready to face a full day of relaxation and rejuvenation.
Fully equipped (cable TV, wifi, non-motorized boats and kayaks) and just the right amount of rustic blend to create perfect authenticity and convenience. How I envy the lucky family that grew up here.
Evening cocktails accompany the grilling of epicurean meats from Morgan’s in Penn Yan and local corn. The meal is accompanied by the obligatory bottle of local wine (the list of wineries and varieties are extensive although we’re partial to Dr. Frank’s for chardonnay and Anthony Road for pinot noir).
Lather, rinse, repeat…has a week gone by already???? Sign us up for next year.
