Albuquerque House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-6)

Warm inviting family friendly 3 bedroom 2 bath home located in the Sandia Mountains on the Turquoise Trail just minutes from Albuquerque and just south of Santa Fe. Our home has a two-car garage and is on a beautiful quiet wooded half acre lot. The Turquoise Trail is bursting with galleries, arts, shops, restaurants, and you can find the unique town of Madrid, featured in the movie 'Wild Hogs', just 25 miles north of Cedar Crest and half way to Santa Fe. There is a great grocery store minutes away called the Triangle Grocery. You can enjoy eating out or eating in, which ever you desire. Most businesses are individually owned and operated. Banks and ATM's are also available for your convenience. If you want fast food, you may need to drive in to Albuquerque only 10 minutes from home.

If you golf, you will love Paa-ko Ridge Golf Club. Take a scenic drive up Crest Road to the top of Sandia Mountain at 10,700 feet overlooking Albuquerque or you can ride the longest tram in the world to the top of the mountain from Albuquerque and eat at the High Finance Restaurant. Conveniently located minutes from Albuquerque and only 49 miles from Santa Fe, you will not run out of things to do.

About Marilyn

I bought my mountain home just east of Albuquerque in 1999. It has been my home for a number of years but with my life moving me elsewhere, I could not part with this home that means so much to me.

Marilyn purchased this house in 1999

Why Marilyn chose Albuquerque

I decided to rent out my home as a vacation home so I could have the pleasure of sharing it with others and yet come back for visits myself. There is so much to do and see and is so convenient to Albuquerque. I love hearing the comments of people who have stayed in my home and they seem to love and appreciate the quiet retreat of the mountains, yet the diversity of being so close to Albuquerque and Santa Fe. There is so much history and fun in our area.

What makes this house unique

I enjoy the quiet mornings and the awesome sunrises. In the summer you can sit on the front porch an watch the sun creep over the mountains. At night you can see the stars without obstruction of city lights. You will have all the conveniences of shops, galleries, a great grocery store, video rentals, great restaurants and just 5 minutes for the house. I also enjoy the BioPark, the museums, the hiking areas, golf at Paa-ko, the Sandia Tram, the fun town of Madrid, and all the unique areas that New Mexico and it's heritage have to offer at the various pueblos and State Parks.

Great Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a wonderful vacation with our family. There were 7 of us total including our two year old granddaughter. This is a wonderful place for a family gathering. The house provided plenty of space for all of us and afforded a clean, safe place for our granddaughter to play and relax. Quiet and secluded although very conveniently located to restaurants and shopping and an easy drive for day trips. The house is completely stocked with linens, pots and pans (anything needed in the kitchen), appliances, cleaning supplies, vcr with movies, fans, blankets.....the list goes on and on. Especially appreciated the use of the garage for our vehicle and trailer. All the comforts of home along with the added beauty of the Albuquerque area. We attended the balloon fiesta while on this trip and hope to make this retreat and the festival an annual family outing. Thank you Marilyn for sharing your home with us.

EXCELLENT - EXCELLENT - EXCELLENT - Deserves TEN stars!!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful property FAR surpassed all expectations!! It is wonderfully quiet, and feels completely secluded, even though you're only about 15 minutes from the main part of Albuquerque. Very safe neighborhood--could walk all around the streets every day for exercise. Birds and wildlife all around. Even heard coyotes yipping.

Had to drive in to Albuquerque almost every day for appointments, but even that drive was beautiful--driving through the mountains East of the city instead of having to battle the traffic. Very relaxing.

The house itself has everything you could ever need. And Marilyn (the owner) was so helpful. When we mentioned that we liked using a toaster oven for heating leftovers, she had one sent to the house while we were there. Every appliance you can imagine was right there in the kitchen (including some I didn't have a clue how to operate--what is a "ricer" anyway)? Seriously, we cooked most of our meals right there at the house, so we didn't even eat out much, but there were several excellent restaurants just down highway 14: Greenside Cafe (right next to the excellent and well-stocked Triangle Grocery store where the people are extremely helpful and friendly) and Ribs Bar-B-Q were just a couple of the ones close by, without even having to go into Albuquerque. Excellent food at very reasonable prices.

Highway 14, just outside the little subdivision where the house is located, runs all the way into Santa Fe, through Golden, Cerrillos and Madrid if you want shopping--we made the drive three times during our stay. The scenery along the way is amazing--rock formations and wide-open vistas all the way to the northern mountains.

Would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone--whether for a few days or for several weeks like we stayed. Marilyn could not have been more helpful and thoughtful during what could have been a very rough time having to be in Albuquerque for extended medical treatments. It made something that would have been intolerable tolerable, and actually even enjoyable for me--having enough room for family to come and stay. And got to play "tourist" while there as well!!

If you're a golfer, don't miss Paako Ridge golf course. It's just up Highway 14 from the turnoff for Marilyn's house. Outstanding course, but bring lots of balls!! Sandia Crest Ski Area is right there, and Tinkertown!!

Again, would HIGHLY recommend this property. Just bring your toothbrush; Marilyn has provided just about everything else!!

Cedar Crest rental home

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed in this home July 24th-29th and loved it. There were 5 of us and we had plenty of space and found it very comfortable. The patio area was very pretty and felt very secluded even tho there are neighbors. The drive into Albuquerque was not bad at all and worth the drive because we felt like we were in the mountains not the busy city. The kitchen was wonderful and had everything we needed, we cooked breakfast every morning and it was just like home. I would highly recommend this home : ) Thank you Marilyn for sharing your beautiful home!!!

Better than advertised

  • 5 of 5

Dee's Mountain Retreat was fabulous! We had 2 adult couples and a toddler stay for the Balloon Fiesta, and while it rained and was cold while we were there, it was nice to come 'home' to a comfortable house and even build a fire and watch a movie that was provided! (the cable in the back of the TV popped out, so took us a while to figure out why it wasn't working, but after that, no problems!) It was convenient to have a ranch and not have to worry about stairs for the toddler and everyone got their own room. There was plenty of space for everyone and the whole house was well stocked in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms.

Beware that the water in NM is very hard, but at least a Brita water jug was provided in the fridge (thank you!)

The house was spotless when we arrived and even a lamp was left on for us. The nice big garage fit both of our cars which was handy when it was so rainy.

Marilyn was a delight to deal with and easy to contact. There is wifi provided which is another added bonus. Thank you for an enjoyable mini-vacation!
